Marshals Task Force Captures Murder Suspect in Pensacola Motel, 3 Others Charged with Drugs

PENSACOLA, FL - The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office worked together to capture a suspect who may be responsible for the death of a Pensacola man who was found shot to death in his car last year. Arthur James Roland was 28 years old at the time when he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car at about 7 p.m. on the evening of October 30. Escambia County Investigators had been working since then and recently issued a warrant for suspect Kenneth Eriby of North “V” Street in Pensacola. At 9:30 this morning at a motel located on Highway 29 in Pensacola the Task Force caught up with Eriby and arrested him without any problems. A female who was wanted locally on a Petit Theft misdemeanor warrant and two other local men who were also with Eriby at the time were also arrested on drug charges. According to investigators there may still be other suspects involved in Roland’s murder.

The Marshals Task Force received the case yesterday afternoon and went right to work. Late last night they received information that Eriby was staying at the motel. A Task Force member and Escambia County patrol deputies attempted to arrest Eriby then but he was not in the room were he was checked in under his name. Early this morning U.S. Marshals and Task Force members from Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties as well as members from FDLE re-grouped this time snatching him out of bed of another room he was sleeping in on the same floor.

“This was a great cooperative effort from the Task Force, sheriff’s investigators and the employees of the motel working together to take a possible murderer off of the streets,” said Task Force Coordinator Dominic Guadagnoli.

The others arrested including Eriby are all being charged with the drugs at this time which included crack-cocaine, marijuana and codeine syrup also known as “lean”. The three others arrested were:

Senario Carter, 21, of South “J” Street in Pensacola is charged with Possession of Crack-Cocaine and Marijuana.

Javardo Malishan, 19, also of South “J” Street is charged with Possession of Crack-Cocaine.

Comeshia Tamereal Griffin, 20, of North Hayne Street arrested on the misdemeanor warrant is charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine.

No one is being charged at this time with the codeine because it has to be tested at a lab first. All four were booked into the Escambia County Jail. Griffin’s bond on the warrant is $10,000.

Last Year U.S. Marshals Task Forces around the country arrested over 73,000 state and local fugitive felons and more than 109,000 between both state and federal warrants.
