Marshals Task Force Arrests 5 Violent Felons; Escapee, Sex Offender and Battery Suspects |
The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task
Force was busy this week after arresting five wanted felons, including
capturing an escapee who fled from a custody in Massachusetts after jumping
out of a second story window; and another who beat a up a man who is still
unconscious. Tiberias Albert, a seventeen year old known affiliate of the
Crips street gang was in custody in Boston, MA when on March 18, Albert
bolted from a juvenile detention facility and disappeared. Albert was
arrested on March 15 on a warrant charging him with a gang related stabbing
in Massachusetts back in September of 2008. At the time of his arrest on
March 15, he was found with a handgun in his possession. The Florida
Regional Task Force received information on Thursday that Albert may be
hiding in the Pensacola area from U.S. Marshals in Rhode Island. The
Marshals here in Pensacola quickly found where Albert was hiding out. The
Task Force conducted surveillance and eventually saw Albert inside of a home
on Creighton Road. At about midnight on Thursday, the Marshals and officers
from Pensacola Police Department entered the home and placed him under
arrest. Albert was brought to the Escambia County Jail where he will wait
until authorities from Massachusetts will bring him back to Boston to face
the original charges and the new escape charge as well. This evening the Task Force and officers from Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office caught up with David Erin Nelson at his home in Crestview, FL. The 6'00, 260lb. 26 year old man is accused of aggravated battery after he sucker-punched a man half his size for no apparent reason causing the man to lose consciousness and never waking up. According to police reports, Nelson is wanted in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana after he was involved in a physical altercation outside of a Lake Charles strip club Friday night. Witnesses said that Nelson was thrown out of the club and while he was outside of the club arguing an unidentified man pulled into the parking lot, got out of his car and was walking into the club when Nelson punched the 5’06” man one time knocking him unconscious. The victim is still in a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Nelson was taken into custody at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday while he was standing in the street outside of his home located in Crestview. Nelson was transported to the Okaloosa County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Later on in the evening, Joseph Kalala, 54, was arrested at an apartment complex on the in Ft. Walton Beach. Kalala is wanted in Escambia County for violation of a domestic violence injunction and aggravated stalking. Kalala was brought to the Okaloosa County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Escambia County. Also arrested by the Marshals Task Force on Thursday night, were 43 year old Sean D. Banks wanted by Escambia County Sheriff’s Office for Failure To Register as a Sex Offender. The Task Force took Banks into custody without incident at a home in Pensacola. Also, 50 year old Darnell Robinson who was wanted in Escambia for Felony battery/strangulation was also picked up Thursday evening at a residence in Pensacola. Both men were transported to Escambia County Jail. |
