Accused Double Murder “Hitman” Arrest in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, LA – A Baton Rouge man wanted for the murders of Dustin and Beth Duncan was arrested this afternoon by investigators from the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force. Charles Young, 21, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the execution style double murder that occurred on January 7 in the 3400 block of Canonicus Street. MLFTF Investigators began the investigation to locate Young shortly after the crime occurred.

During the investigation, information was obtained that Young had associates that resided at the Howell Place Apartments in the 4100 block of 72nd Avenue. Investigators observed Young enter the apartment and, after a search of the unit, ultimately found him hiding in a bathroom. Young was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Baton Rouge Police Department Homicide Division for questioning.

“This fugitive is truly the worst of the worst. He is accused of murdering two people in cold blood and the violent nature of that offense made him our highest priority.” said U.S. Marshal Carey Jenkins.

The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, coordinated by the U.S. Marshals Service, is a multi-agency task force that targets persons wanted for violent crimes, narcotic offenses, and sex offenders in the Capitol area and surrounding Parishes.

Participating agencies are the Ascension Sheriff’s Office, the Baton Rouge Police Department,
East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana State Police, the Louisiana State Probation and
Parole, and the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. For more information about the U.S.
