Macroinvertebrate Data
Macroinvertebrate Database Browser
This Macroinvertebrate Database Browser provides the most complete access to raw data using the widest variety of query parameters.
For macroinvertebrate component information, read the
Component Information Page
that contains a description, history, and value ranges of the data.
Queries made using the Macroinvertebrate Database Browser are real time, it may take a few minutes to retrieve your results.

The Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinates are a global grid system similar to latitude and longitude. Rather than using hemispheres, UTM coordinates divide the Earth into 60 north-south zones of 6 degrees longitude each. The UTM coordinates are the distance in meters from the central meridian (Easting) and from the Earth's equator (Northing) for each of these 6 degree zones. A zone's central meridian is the line of longitude from the 6 degree intersection with the equator to the North Pole. The UTM coordinates for all river pools are based from zone 15. Please enter a UTM range for the pool(s) selected.

Mayflies (
Ephemeroptera
) are an aquatic insect larvae that can be used as a water quality indicator and are selected for monitoring because they play an important ecological role in the Upper Mississippi River. Enter the number of mayfly larvae found in the sample desired.

Fingernail clams (
sphaeriidae
