The New York Regional
Office is one of 57 offices providing benefits, such as
Compensation, Pension, Education, Loan Guaranty, Vocational
Rehabilitation and Employment Services, and Insurance. The New
York Regional Office is located in downtown Manhattan and is
open from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to
Friday.

Mission
Our
MISSION is to provide benefits and services to veterans and
their dependents in an accurate and timely manner which our
customers recognize as compassionate and
responsive.
Office Profile
The New York Regional Office serves
approximately 800,000 veterans living in the 31 Eastern
counties of New York State. Of the five VBA benefits programs,
the New York Regional Office employees administer two directly
to our customers. However, questions on these benefits or
briefings for new veterans are conducted on all 5 VBA
programs. For the Insurance benefit, all services are provided
by the Philadelphia VAROIC. For Education benefits, four
regional processing offices across the country have been
designated. For New York veterans (and all Northeast states),
the Buffalo Regional Office is the processing center for
Education claims. The Loan Guaranty program has 9 loan centers
across the country. For New York veterans, Manchester is the
Regional Loan Center. Veterans are encouraged to call us at
1-800-827-1000 and if necessary we will direct the call to the
specialized processing centers.
