Mysterious Credit Card Charge Could Lead To Identity Theft

The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) urges every consumer to check their credit card and bank statements after a mysterious 25-cent credit card charge started appearing on credit card customers’ statements.NCPC said the charge could become the opening identity thieves need if consumers are not careful. The charges appear on the statements as Adele Services in Melville, NY, but there is no such business. While it is not clear how many consumers have been affected, NCPC says it is a clear indication that consumers need to go on the offensive to reduce their risks of identity theft as the holiday shopping season ends.
