About the Systems Genetics Group
Our research mission is the advancement and application of systems genetics,
the systems biology of populations, using the mouse as a model organism to
study complex heritable traits including environmental exposure effects and disease.
As home to the development of the definitive mouse genetic reference population,
the Complex Trait Consortium's Collaborative Cross,
and the newly expanded set of BXD recombinant inbred lines,
we support basic mouse genetics and phenotyping, exposure biology,
statistical genetics and data integration, and the generation of tools
for inference of combinatorial gene-network and gene-environment interactions.
Our staff creates tools for and leads investigations of
biological systems, exploiting both natural and induced genetic
