FAQ

How can I sign up to receive information from FCIC?

We offer many ways to receive information you can use. New for Consumers feature releases highlight publications from our Consumer Information Catalog: our toll-free information number 1 (800 FED-INFO: and FCIC's family of websites, which includes USA.gov and ConsumerAction.gov. Our Consumer, Health, and Money RSS feeds point the way to great story ideas. And email updates will tell you when we update the Feature Releases page on our website. Sign up for any of these services online or call Media Staff at 202-501-1794.

How do I get free review copies of FCIC publications I would like to feature?

To receive free review copies of all of our publications, just give our Media Staff a holler and let them know the name and Item number of the publications you are interested in. You can contact them through our Media Hotline at 202-501-1794 or by e-mail.

I'm working on a story and need a quote from or an interview with government spokesperson. How do I find the right person to contact?

Just give the FCIC Media Staff a call at 202-501-1794 or send them an e-mail. We'll point you in the right direction with the name and contact information of the person you need to speak to. And if we can't give you that information immediately, we'll call back promptly with the information. We'll do everything we can to meet your deadline!

How do you promote through the media?

The FCIC works daily with newspapers, magazines, television and radio, and other media outlets to promote the Consumer Information Catalog and its publications, the Consumer Action Handbook, 1 (800) fED-INFO, and its family of websites.

Through public service advertising, press releases, and RSS Feeds, and Gov Gab, its blog, the Federal Citizen Information Center spreads the word to consumers across the country, helping them find the information they need.

For more information about the media program, see the FCIC fact sheet, Services for the Media.
