How much do I pay for coverage?

Answer:

The Federal Government pays 1/3rd the cost of Basic insurance. The employee share costs $0.15 cents per $1,000 worth of coverage (Basic is free for Postal employees). You can find more information in the FEGLI Handbook.

You pay 100% of the cost of Optional insurance. The premiums for the three Optional insurance coverages are based on your age and the number of Option B and/or Option C multiples (up to five) you elect. You can find more information in the FEGLI Handbook.
