APPROVED INTERPRETATION GUIDANCE FOR DOE M 232.1-1A
This guidance is provided to establish uniform and
consistent interpretations of the requirements in
DOE M 232.1-1A, Occurrence Reporting and Processing
of Operations Information. It is intended that this
page will be a living page, and that new interpretations
will be added on a frequent basis as new issues are
identified and approved. Continuous input from Facility
Managers, Facility Representatives, Program Managers,
and other interested stakeholders is needed to ensure
ongoing improvement in the consistency in the reporting
of occurrences. Consistent reporting complex-wide
is essential for conducting meaningful analyses to
identify positive and adverse trends. Identification
of an adverse trend is the first step in correcting
the trend.
The items below are intended to provide guidance
using actual examples wherever possible to illustrate
the intent. The following approved interpretations
follow the same sequence as the reporting requirements
and criteria in DOE M 232.1-1A.
