The state laws listed below require the expungement and correction of inaccurate information from the records of an identity theft victim. Arrest records can be created in a victim's name when someone other than the victim provides the victim's identifying information when he or she is arrested. An arrest warrant can be issued when the identity thief fails to appear in Court for their hearing.
