Secretary Salazar and Congressional Leaders to Celebrate Public Lands in Colorado and Dedicate Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness

ESTES PARK, CO – Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join members of the Colorado congressional delegation to dedicate Rocky Mountain National Park’s new wilderness area and to celebrate public lands in Colorado at a ceremony on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the YMCA of the Rockies.

The dedication of Wilderness at Rocky Mountain National Park is the culmination of an effort that began in 1974 and was jump started in recent years through the efforts of many including the park’s gateway communities of Grand Lake and Estes Park.

Senator Mark Udall, Senator Michael Bennet and Congresswoman Betsy Markey are expected to join Secretary Salazar for this celebration.
