Office of Audit
The Office of Audit conducts or oversees the conduct of program audits, financial statement audits, information technology audits, contract audits, attestation engagements, and non-audit services. The purpose of these audits is to improve the quality, reduce the cost, and increase the integrity of Treasury's operations. The work of the Office is conducted in compliance with the standards and guidelines established by the Comptroller General of the United States, the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency (PCIE), and other professional organizations.

Office of Investigations
The Office of Investigations is responsible for the overall investigative and oversight activities of the Office of Inspector General relating to complaints of fraud, waste, and abuse of the programs and operations of the Treasury Department. The Office of Investigations also performs reviews in accordance with quality standards issued by the PCIE.

Office of Management
The Office of Management establishes and maintains a transparent and fully integrated administrative infrastructure for asset management, budget formulation and execution, financial management, human resources, information technology, policy preparation, planning and reporting for the OIG. Multi-faceted, this organization provides business services to individuals within and outside the OIG.

Office of Counsel
The Office of Counsel provides legal advice on issues arising during the statutorily mandated investigative, oversight, and audit activities conducted by the Offices of Investigations and Audit. In addition, the Office of Counsel provides legal advice on issues concerning government contracts, appropriations, budget formulation and execution, disclosure, records retention, tax information safeguards, equal employment opportunity, and personnel law. The office represents the OIG in administrative proceedings before the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and provides support to the Department of Justice in OIG-related litigation.

The office is also responsible for managing the OIG ethics program, which includes financial disclosure, training, and advice on the governing law and regulations. In the area of disclosure law, the Office of Counsel manages the OIG’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act programs. The Office of Counsel also coordinates information requests from Congress, other agencies, the media and public, as well as responding to Giglio requests from the Department of Justice for information on Treasury personnel.
