Glossary

The NQMC Glossary provides clarifying definitions and examples of terms used to describe common properties of health care quality measures used in the NQMC structured abstracts (summaries).

Measure Hierarchy

NQMC captures information that enables users to view groups of measures within their organizational context. For more details on the various levels and development of the hierarchy, visit the Measure Hierarchy page.

Measure Validity

The NQMC Complete Measure Summary captures key building blocks that you can use to assess the validity of a measure for your purpose. Visit the Measure Validity page.

Naming Measures

Measures that are submitted and accepted into NQMC are renamed to standardize the style and format of measure titles across organizations. NQMC has developed naming conventions for each domain of measurement represented on the Web site (i.e., Access, Outcome, Patient Experience, Process, and Structure). Selecting Measures and Using Measures

NQMC provides material on how to use, select, apply, and interpret a measure. Resources have been selected not only from the peer-reviewed journal literature, but also from non-journal sources. Visit the Using Measures and the Selecting Measures pages to find out more.
