Consumer Updates: Food
Consumer Updates are timely articles that cover product approvals, safety warnings, and other health information for you and your family. You can sign up to receive e-mail alerts about new articles immediately after they are posted on FDA's Web site, or on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You can also sign up for an RSS feed. Some of these articles are available in Spanish.
Consumer Updates related to food are featured on this page. Americans get food from all over the world and are eating more food prepared outside the home. This makes food safety increasingly important. FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition ensures the safety of about 80 percent of all food consumed in the United States, regulating everything except meat, poultry, and certain egg products, which are regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
