Publication

IMLS plans to publish the results of its analysis in the Spring of 2007. A practicioner's volume and a policy brief will:

  • assist practitioners, prospective applicants, and others planning youth development programs to improve project design and become community partners in creating and sustaining a nation of learners;
  • present successful models and provide practical guidelines to the public, practitioners, policy makers, and other funders about what works; and
  • Engage public policy makers.

July 2006 | Hall of Health

May 2006 | Upper Hudson Library System

The Sky Camp project paired middle school teachers with the lifelong learning resources of public libraries to create a year-long educational series, enabling teens’ imaginations to take flight. Central Park Zoo visitors read poetry while viewing penguins. The conservation message is challenging for zoos to present quickly and effectively. The Central Park Zoo, an innovator in interpretive concepts for zoos, has turned to poetry in its quest to portray the significance of the earth’s loss of biodiversity. Read more
