Minimum Wage Increases to $7.25 in 2007

Effective January 1, 2007, the Hawaii minimum wage will increase from $6.75 to $7.25 per hour (see "2006 Notice to Employees" Poster). Most employers in Hawaii are subject to this increase because the Hawaii minimum wage is higher than the federal minimum wage of $5.15 per hour, and the federal law provides for the higher State standard to apply.

Under certain conditions, employers may pay tipped employees twenty-five cents less per hour. For information on tip credit, click here.
