GPO signed a partnership agreement with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to provide permanent public access to the GAO Reports database on the GAO Web site. Under this agreement, GAO agrees to provide storage capacity and user access without restrictions on re-dissemination.
The GAO database on GPO Access is provided as an archive of the content as it was at the time the agreement was signed on September 19, 2008. For these and more recent reports, visit the GAO Reports database on the GAO Web site.
GPO Access contains all publicly released GAO reports
from FY95 to September 2008, as well as approximately 85% of the publicly
released reports for FY94 and 3% for FY93. Reports are available as ASCII text and Adobe Portable Document Format
(PDF) files.
To search by report number, enter the report number in quotes. For
example: RCED-99-47 or "GAO-03-168". Since FY01,
all issuing division or office information has been removed from the
report number. Report numbers now begin with "GAO."
To search by GAO control numbers, use the full-text search box only
and enter the control number in quotes. For example: e.g. "B-285272".
GAO control numbers are not searchable in the report number field.
To narrow a search, use Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT, ADJ) and
quotes around phrases. For example: "national forests" AND
(conservation OR management).
To find variations on words, truncation can be used. For example:
legislat* will retrieve both legislation and legislative.

Office.
