GFDL Building Access Requirements

From the north (e.g. Newark Liberty International Airport):

  • Take the New Jersey Turnpike south
  • Take exit 9 (RT-18 toward US-1/New Brunswick/E Brunswick)
  • Keep right at the fork, follow signs for RT-18 N/US-1/New Brunswick/Princeton/Trenton/Tower Center Blvd and merge onto RT-18 N
  • Take the US-1 South ramp to Trenton
  • Follow Route 1 South for approximately 14 miles
  • Exit at Sayre Dr/Forrestal Campus and make the first left which will take you under Route 1.
  • Continue on Forrestal Road for approximately 1000ft and make a right.
  • Follow the road until you can make the first right into the GFDL parking lot.

From the south (e.g. Philadelphia International Airport):

  • Take I-95 or I-295 north
  • Take exit 67 (US-1 toward New Brunswick/Trenton)
  • Follow Route 1 North for approximately six miles
  • Exit at Sayre Dr/Forrestal Campus and follow Forrestal Road to the right.
  • Continue on Forrestal Road for approximately 1000ft and make a right.
  • Follow the road until you can make the first right into the GFDL parking lot.

TrainLink Shuttle Service

Shuttle service connecting the Forrestal Campus with the Princeton Junction Train Station is available during the morning and evening rush. TrainLink Schedule TrainLink Route Map. Drop-off and pickup closest to GFDL is at the walkway on Campus Road that leads up to the Re-Cap facility (located behind Sayre Hall). TigerTransit Shuttle Service

Princeton University’s new TigerTransit transportation system operates on a fixed route schedule during the academic year, providing safe, convenient and reliable transportation throughout the Princeton campus and surrounding community.The new TigerTransit transportation system offers improved service levels with stops at academic and administrative buildings; faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate student housing; Nassau Street; and the Forrestal Campus and Princeton Plasma Physics Lab (click here for map). You can track the shuttle as it makes its way between and around the campuses via http://princeton.transloc.com. On the left hand side of the screen, you can click on the green "Forrestal/PPPL" link to see just this shuttle. If you click it again, then all of the shuttles reappear.
