Current Activities and Projects

Capability Steward for the Computer and Network Services (CaNS) element of EMSL's Enabling Technologies Division.

The CaNS capability includes: the EMSL PC/Mac desktop support, conference room support, EMSL Scientific Computing, EMSL Cluster and High Performance Computing, EMSL Unix and Windows Infrastructure, EMSL Instrumentation, and EMSL Computer Security tasks.

Shaun also leads the PNNL Unix Helpdesk through Line and matrixed staff, and manages the EMSL Unix Service Center which provides fee-based support to over 250 PNNL Unix/Linux systems.

Research Interests

Lead the CaNS Special Project team which researches new data, network, and information technologies and methodologies and their potential application to the EMSL facility.

Past Experience

Shaun's sixteen years of experience prior to working at PNNL were focused on various Department of Defense projects as an Electronic Warfare Specialist. Shaun's previous position was as the sole Communications Signals Analyst (COMSAT) for the Defense Attaché's Technical Liaison Office at the United States Embassy in Bangkok Thailand.
