 The
following NOAA scientists, engineers, administrative personnel,
and personnel of the Office of Marine and Aircraft Operations
have performed in such a manner to bring great respect and honor
to NOAA and its parent organization, the United States Department
of Commerce.
These individuals have been recognized by the award of departmental
gold and silver medals for outstanding and exceptional service.
The service of these individuals could come from scientific discovery,
the design and installation of engineering systems supporting
NOAA programs, administrative service of a particularly innovative
or efficient manner, technical leadership, program management,
or any of a number of myriad elements that make up the short and
long-term operations of a large science organization.
