Land Management
Land-use planning and management provides day-to-day implementation of comprehensive land-use planning and disposal of real property interests, such as, easements, licenses, permits and leases. Land management functions include:
- Providing site planning services for all new facilities, infrastructure systems, land improvements, or change of land use.
- Providing new and renewed licenses, permits, and easements on the Hanford Site.
- Characterizing, and then transferring or selling, real property to other parties.
- Preparing for long-term stewardship on post-cleanup lands that cannot be released for unrestricted use.
- Maintaining controls and providing long-term surveillance and maintenance on post-cleanup lands until the land can be transferred to another entity.
