Congresswoman Bordallo Visits Guam Midshipmen at U.S. Naval Academy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 29, 2009 – Washington, D.C. –

Congresswoman Bordallo on Friday, April 24, 2009, made a visit to Guam’s midshipmen enrolled at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Maryland.  Five residents of Guam are currently attending the USNA in preparation for service as officers in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps.  Congresswoman Bordallo observed the noon meal formations before joining the Guam midshipmen for lunch in King Hall.

“I had the opportunity to visit Guam’s midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and I thanked them for their service to our nation,” Congresswoman Bordallo said today. “The U.S. Naval Academy and the other service academies provide academic and military training for our nation’s future military leaders.  This challenging program is one of many opportunities for young men and women from Guam who desire to serve our nation in the armed forces.”
