Renaming and Reorganizing the Agency
Business Oregon logo
The Oregon Legislature approved legislation (HB 2152) renaming and refocusing the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department.

When Governor Kulongoski signs the Bill, the department will be renamed the Oregon Business Development Department and will do business under the name Business Oregon. The Governor proposed the reorganization of the department last year in an Executive Order with the goal of giving the agency a more strategic focus on addressing the needs of existing Oregon businesses.
