Copyright Office Announces Alternative Filing Methods for 2004 DART Royalty Claims

The Copyright Office of the Library of Congress announces alternative methods for filing claims to the DART royalty funds for the year 2004 while the Office completes the transition to a permanent system for electronic filing of claims. To ensure that claims are timely received, claimants are strongly encouraged to file their DART claims online or by fax by February 25, 2005, using the special procedures described in the Federal Register notice. Claims may be filed online through the Copyright Office website at www.copyright.gov/carp/dart beginning January 1, 2005. Claims may also be filed by fax, or they may be hand- delivered by a private party or by commercial carrier. Follow the procedures as detailed in the Federal Register announcement. All claims must be received by the Office no later than 5 p.m. eastern standard time on February 28, 2005. For further information, click here.
