Inside NAEP

Learn More About Gaps

The race/ethnicity gap that is the focus of the Achievement Gaps study is just one of many performance gaps that you can analyze using the NAEP Data Explorer (NDE). The updated NDE allows you to explore performance gaps across all NAEP assessments and among hundreds of different student variables, from the student's gender to how often the student discusses schoolwork at home.
