Library Instruction

1. Orientation for New Users:

Discover the best ways to navigate the libraries’ web site, how to search databases, access e-journals, set up email alerts, develop an Endnote database, tour our special collections, and more. Contact Mary.Lou.Cumberpatch@noaa.gov to set up an individual appointment or to set up a more formal briefing for your program or office staff.

2. Endnote, EndnoteWeb and Reference Manager:

NOAA has a site-wide license for the bibliographic management tools Endnote and Reference Manager. To download these software tools, go to the NOAA NITES web page. Select download site.

Extensive training resources are available on the Endnote website and Reference Manager website. (Note that ProCite is no longer being upgraded and training is not offered for this software. Procite databases can be converted to Endnote or Reference Manager.)

Endnote Web accounts can be set up using the User Registration page. Note you must be using your NOAA computer to create an authenticated log-in.

For more information and "at your desktop" tutorials, contact Mary.Lou.Cumberpatch@noaa.gov

3. Database Searching - Online Tutorials and Help Are Available for Library Research Databases:

4. Upcoming Library Workshops - Your NOAA Central Library is Online! Fall 2009 Workshops will feature training on the use of Endnote, Endnote Web, Lexis-Nexis, Web of Science, and more.
