Visiting Our Nation's Capitol?

Here are some things you might want to check out:

Please follow this link to request tours through Congressman Abercrombie’s Office. Tour requests may be made up to six months in advance, and we recommend early notice to ensure a better chance that your tours can be arranged. The following tours are available through our office:

The United States Capitol: Tours of the Capitol are available Monday through Saturday between 9:00am and 3:30pm. Tour requests are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend early requests (i.e. 30 days in advance). The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes. To book a tour, please fill out the online tour request form. In addition, Capitol Gallery passes that provide access to the viewing area for the House and Senate chambers are available at the Congressman's Washington office.

The White House: Public tours of the White House are available at no charge on a first come, first served basis. Requests must be submitted through your Member of Congress and are accepted up to six months in advance. These self-guided tours are available Tuesday through Saturday morning, excluding federal holidays, and are scheduled by the White House approximately seven to ten days in advance of the requested date. We encourage you to submit your request as early as possible (six months notice is recommended) since a limited number of tours are available. We cannot accept requests that are made less than one month before your scheduled arrival date and we cannot guarantee White House tours. For the most current tour information, please call the 24-hour line at 202-456-7041. Please note that White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation. To request a White House tour, please fill out the online tour request form.

No 3:30 tours are available on Saturdays. Visitors may enter the building at the West front entrance, which faces the Capitol, and inquire about joining a tour group at the Visitor Information Desk. The tour includes the Great Hall and the Main Reading Room viewed from the Visitors Gallery. Congressional tours of the Library are also available. To request a Congressional tour, please fill out the online tour request form. Space on these tours is limited, so please request early.

Supreme Court: The U.S. Supreme Court Building is open Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Public lectures are conducted in the Courtroom every hour on the half-hour, from 9:30 until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except when the Court is in Session.
