We need your help to prevent lead poisoning by getting the word out about the hazards of lead. To educate people on lead poisoning prevention and the danger of lead exposure, EPA, CDC, and HUD are holding a video contest. * Create a 30- to 60-second video that will inform and motivate people to take steps that will help prevent lead poisoning. Tell your own story, or show how to take steps to prevent lead poisoning in older homes and schools.

Your goal is to illustrate ways that target audiences, such as parents, teachers, renovators and others, can prevent lead poisoning by changing simple behaviors.

The goal of the video contest is to educate the public about lead poisoning prevention.

Three winning videos will be chosen. The winners will receive a $2,500 award for first place, $1,500 for second place, and $1,000 for third place. The videos will be featured on EPA's, CDC's and HUD's Web sites. Entries must be received by October 1, 2009, at 12 noon EDT. The contest winners will be notified during Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, October 25-31, 2009, via e-mail.
