ARRA Grants Digest

Funds will be used to construct the Tahoe City Transit Center and an associated130-space parking, and to purchase a 30-foot bus.

The Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee will use the funds to purchase intelligent transportation hardware and software, including as many as 75 mobile data terminals.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Santa Maria Area Transit: $2.5 million for construction of the Santa Maria Intermodal Transit Center, three buses, and five vans.
• Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority: $6.8 million for the Metro Red Line Subway Escalator Canopy Project.

The Chatham Area Transit Authority will use the funds to purchase seven 30-foot buses, a security system, and seven bus shelters.

The City of Springfield will use the funds for the design and construction of a maintenance facility.

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands will use the funds for improvements to a bus maintenance and operation center. 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will use the funds for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, which will accelerate the project’s schedule of construction and reduce finance costs.

The following grants are being awarded:

• New York State Department of Transportation: $23.2 million for the purchase of 151 buses and two trolley buses, the construction of an administrative/ maintenance facility, preliminary design, computer hardware and software, transit management technology, shop equipment, and driver training simulators.
• Tompkins County: $1.2 million for the purchase of two 40-foot hybrid electric buses, three 30-foot paratransit buses, preventive maintenance and mobil surveillance security equipment.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Milwaukee County Transit: $25.6 million to purchase 45 40-foot buses, a vehicle annunciator/passenger information system, spare bus parts, and computer hardware.
• City of Wausau: $1.8 million to purchase five 35-foot buses.

The Government of American Samoa will use the funds for ferry terminal design, vans, and state transit administration needs.

The following grants are being awarded to the City of Phoenix.

• $51.1 million for a park-and-ride lot, transit center refurbishments, preventive maintenancebus stop improvements, acquisition of right-of-way for RPTA’s Bus Rapid Transit Arizona Avenue/Country Club Phase 1 project, busway improvements and stations, expansion and upgrades to East Valley Operations and Maintenance Facility in Tempe, Valley Metro Rail, Inc. Light Rail Transit park-and-ride shade canopies.
• $36 million for the Central Phoenix/East Valley Light Rail Transit Project.
• $640,070 to construct a bus access crossover lane through the SR-51/Bell Road freeway interchange for its RAPID express bus service.
• $1.0 million for the acquisition of land and construction of a park-and-ride lot.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Corona: $600,000 for bus replacement and bus stop amenities, purchase four 30-foot replacement CNG Dial-A-Ride vehicles and the purchase and installation of bus stop shelters, solar powered security lighting at bus stops, signage and related equipment.
• City of Davis: $1.0 million for the purchase of two 40-foot replacement buses.
• City of Riverside: $700,000 to purchase an automated farebox system for 26 vehicles.
• City of La Mirada: $111,200 for the purchase of bus security cameras and maintenance facility equipment.
• Antelope Valley Transit Authority: $10.2 million for the purchase of eleven hybrid buses, six service and support vehicles, and three commuter shuttles. Funds will also be used for modifications to a park-and-ride transfer center, solar-powered parking structures, and the installation of bus shelters and lighting at transfer centers in Lancaster.
• Yuba-Sutter Transit Authority: $128,459 for the purchase of three 35-foot buses.
• City of Norwalk: $2.3 million for preventative maintenance, transit station amenities and bus shelters.
• Foothill Transit: $21.4 million for the purchase of three 35-foot replacement buses, administrative facility renovations and support equipment.
• City of Santa Clarita: $2.8 million for AVL, rider information, smartcards for paratransit and security cameras.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Regional Transportation District: $40.0 million to accelerate payment under the Full Funding Grant Agreement for the West Corridor Light Rail Extension between Denver and Golden, Colorado. Funds from this grant will be used for ten light rail vehicles, sitework, and construction.

• City of Greeley: $2.0 million for the purchase of three 30-foot transit coaches and one 20-foot paratransit van, as well as an automatic vehicle locator system, a security system, bus wash system, the relocation of a fuel bay, the retrofitting of 13 buses to assist Persons with Disabilities, the installation of mobile data terminals in each paratransit van, transfer center improvements, and signage.

The Delaware Department of Transportation will use the funds to purchase four rail cars to be used on the R2 line between Philadelphia and Newark, build a new maintenance facility, renovate a park-and-ride lot, and build a bus transfer center in the City of Dover.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Broward County Transit Division: $35.1 million for the redesign of the Ravenswood operations and maintenance facility, real-time paratransit fleet monitoring technology, fixed route single sign-on technology, and bus stop enhancements.
• Manatee County Board of County Commissioners: $4.6 million for property acquisition for park-and-ride, five buses, ADA access to bus stops and shelters, and security equipment.
• St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners: $2.0 million for the construction of an intermodal facility and a park-and-ride lot, signs, bus shelters, transit security, and the purchase of three support vehicles.
• Lake County Board of County Commissioners: $2.2 million for the purchase of three 30-foot buses, 10 vans, two paratransit vans, bus shelters, facility rehabilitation, an automatic vehicle locator system and preventive maintenance.

• Miami-Dade Transit Agency: $64.5 million for the purchase of nine 60-foot, eight 30-foot buses, six shuttle buses, 15 hybrid pool replacement buses, 19 trolleys, two replacement vans, three minivans, canopies/shelters, pedestrian and facility improvements.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Davenport: $1.5 million for the purchase of four 35-foot transit buses.

• City of Bettendorf: $539,497 for the purchase of three 30-foot buses and surveillance cameras.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Greater Peoria Mass Transit District: $4.2 million for the purchase of 28 buses.
• RTA Suburban Bus Division: $33.1 million for the purchase of 58 buses, 190 paratransit vehicles and 76 support vehicles for Chicago and Roundlake.
• Danville Mass Transit: $891,527 for the purchase of two biodiesel buses and lot upgrades. 
• Springfield Mass Transit: $2.5 million to purchase seven buses.
• Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System: $2.4 million to construct a bus facility.
• Madison County Transit District: $5.5 million for the purchase of 15 buses.
• The State of Illinois Department of Transportation:  $11.5 million for the purchase and distribution of 74 30-foot paratransit buses, 24 vans, shop equipment, transit technology, and preliminary engineering.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation: $2.4 million for replacement of three 40-foot buses, two support vehicles, hardware and software for fare collection, bus shelters, a phone system, and electrical system upgrades.
• Gary Public Transportation Corporation: $3.6 million for the purchase of six 35-foot diesel fueled buses, the rehabilitation of facilities and computer hardware and software.
• Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission: $434,000 for facility renovations and the replacement of a low-floor minivan.
• Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District: $13.9 million for signal and control system upgrades.
• Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission: $2.4 million for capital contracting costs, preventative maintenance and ADA paratransit subsidies.
• Indiana Department of Transportation: $12.7 million to purchase 111 30-foot replacement buses, 29 replacement vans, four sedan/station wagons, 34 30-foot buses, one van, six sedan/station wagons for expansion services, passenger shelters, computer equipment, fare boxes, communication equipment and other miscellaneous expenses.
• Michigan City Transit: $527,582 for preventative maintenance, operating assistance, heaters for buses and a replacement vehicle.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Wichita: $6.6 million for the design and construction of a regional vehicle maintenance facility, the purchase 25 paratransit vans, various improvements, and preventive maintenance. 

• The City of Topeka: $2.0 million to purchase five 35-foot fixed route buses.

The following grants are being awarded:

• River Parishes Transit Authority: $300,000 to purchase two new 30-foot 12-passenger, lift-equipped buses and associated equipment.

• City of Monroe: $1.8 million to purchase one 35-foot bus, upgrade fare collection and bus technology equipment, renovate an administrative/ operations facility, and perform preventative maintenance.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Kalamazoo Metro Transit: $3.2 million for the purchase of five buses and for renovation to add additional office space for the administrative building.
• Ann Arbor Transportation Authority: $4.2 million for the purchase of four hybrid-electric buses, the construction of a park-and-ride lot, and safety and accessibility improvements at bus stops.
• City of Detroit Department of Transportation: $18.7 million for facility renovations, preventive maintenance, transit enhancements, and other capital expenses.
• Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation: $20.5 million to purchase three 40-foot alternative-fuel buses, one articulated alternative-fuel bus, 56 30-foot connector fleet paratransit vehicles, an automatic vehicle locator system, 312 fareboxes, and communications equipment.
• Detroit Transportation Corporation: $133,125 for Detroit People Mover Maintenance and Control Facility improvements.
• Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation in Monroe: $903,695 for facility renovations and the purchase of three hybrid SUV’s and one truck.
• City of Grand Haven/Harbor Transit: $430,107 for the purchase of three 30-foot    buses, renovation to the administrative and maintenance facility, and support equipment.
• Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services: $3.0 million for the addition and renovations to the Rosa Parks Operation Center, and purchase of five 35-foot biodiesel buses.
• Battle Creek Transit System: $944,000 for facility improvements, vehicle and equipment replacement and upgrades.
• County of Muskegon Area Transit System: $2.0 million to purchase seven 35-foot low-floor diesel-fueled buses, a minivan, fare collection equipment, maintenance office equipment, and preventative maintenance.
• Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority: $780,000 to purchase eight cutaway buses.

The following grants are being awarded:

• The Duluth Transit Authority: $1.5 million for design and planning of a multimodal terminal in downtown Duluth, computer technology upgrades, snow removal equipment, a fueling system, replacement of a heating and air conditioning system, and the construction of a security fence.
• LaCross Municipal Transit Utility: $92,700 for the purchase of a hybrid bus and bus shelters for LaCrescent.
• City of Rochester: $3.5 million for the purchase of a biodiesel bus, engineering and design activities to rebuild an existing transit station, for rebuilding of a downtown bus stop, and for site grading and utility work related to the construction of a new 60-bus public transit garage and operations center.
• Minnesota Department of Transportation Office of Transit: $1 million for the construction of a transit facility in Bemidji, renovation of the existing facility, and project administration.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Jackson: $3.5 million for the construction of an administrative and maintenance facility.

• Coast Transit Authority: $3.3 million for preventative maintenance, a trolley bus, and a hybrid electric bus.. The hybrid bus will be use to create a new express route between the cities of Biloxi and Gulfport, and the new trolley bus will provide transit service to the cities of Long Beach and Pass Christian, which do not currently have service. Funds will also be used for the renovation and modernization of the Biloxi and Gulfport Transit Centers.

• City of Hattiesburg: $500,000 to purchase a trolley bus, software and a command and dispatching system.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Jacksonville: $1.5 million to purchase five 28-foot buses, electronic farebox equipment, automated passenger counters, bus fleet equipment, voice annunciation/automated vehicle locator systems, and design and construction of a bus wash facility.  The funds will also be used for the design and phase one construction of a bus parking facility.

• City of Gastonia Transit: $2.1 million to purchase five 35-foot clean diesel buses.

The following grants are being awarded:

• New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority: $266.9 million: for construction and improvements of the Fulton Street Transit Center project.
• New York City Department of Transportation: $221.7 million for dry-docking services for eight ferry boats and for major upgrades to vehicular and pedestrian access to the St. George Ferry Terminal.
• Broome County: $4.1 million for the purchase of seven 40-foot hybrid electric buses for fixed route service and four 30-foot cutaway buses for rural paratransit service.
• Westchester County Department of Transportation: $13.3 million for the purchase of 12 30-foot hybrid electric transit buses, 15 paratransit vehicles, preventive maintenance, and miscellaneous facility items.
• City of Poughkeepsie: $2.0 million for three hybrid electric buses,  a camera and security system, shop equipment, additional lifts, fleet maintenance software, shop equipment, electronic fareboxes, and preventive maintenance.
• Dutchess County: $4.5 million for the purchase of eight 14 buses, fareboxes and preventive maintenance.
• Chemung County Transit System: $1.5 million for the purchase of two buses and preventative maintenance. 
• Ulster County: $2.5 million for the purchase of seven buses, a fuel tank, an automated vehicle locator system, and facility construction.
• Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority: $24.8 million for the purchase of 56 buses and backup batteries for Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority Metro Rail stations.
• Rockland County Department of Public Transportation: $5.5 million for the purchase of three commuter coaches and six transit buses.
• Oneida County: $662,849 for the purchase of two commuter coaches.
• Central New York Regional Transportation Authority: $12.1 million for the purchase of 39 buses.
• Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority: $9.4 million for the purchase of 60 buses, a diesel emissions fluid facility, and engineering and design for a maintenance facility.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority: $17.6 million to purchase seven buses and to retrofit 32 others with Mini-Hybrid Thermal Management Kits to reduce fuel usage, maintenance costs, and breakdowns of the current hydraulic cooling system on the coaches. Funds will also be used for bus shelters, signage, a bus fluid management system, landscaping and preventative maintenance.

• Allen County Regional Transit Authority: $1.2 million for facility improvements, preventive maintenance, a van, and paratransit service.

• Lawrence County Port Authority: $559,059 for construction of a new transit center.

• City of Newark: $260,000 to purchase four buses, fareboxes and bike racks.

The following grants are being awarded:

• The Tri-County Metropolitan Transit District (TriMet): $9.7 million for the construction of a park-and-ride facility, concrete pads, lighting and street repairs, signage, and preventive maintenance.
• Oregon Department of Transportation: $2.9 million for bus shelters, signs, safety and security equipment, radios for buses, and facility improvements.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Hazleton Public Transit: $879,623 for an intermodal parking facility and a vehicle locator system.
• County of Lackawanna Transit System: $2.6 million to purchase four hybrid-electric buses and communications and security equipment.
• Cumberland-Dauphin Harrisburg Transit Authority: $3.4 million for the purchase of five hybrid-electric buses, and for operating expenses.
• City of Sharon: $616,815 to purchase three buses, and make facility renovations.

The following grants are being awarded:

• The Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority: $2.0 million for ticket vending machine software, lighting, and security improvements to Tren Urbano facilities.
• Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority: $263,000 for two trolleys.
• Municipality of Toa Baja: $397,500 to purchase two buses, one minibus, and radios.
• Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority (Cities of Las Marias and Rincon): $827,463 for the purchase of three trolleys and six vans.
• Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority (Cities of Ceiba and Naguabo): $953,100 for the purchase of three trolley buses and five vans.
• Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority (Cities of Jayuya, Utuado, Salinas and Vieques): $2.1 million for the purchase of two paratransit vehicles, two trolleys, construction of thirty bus shelters, and the rehabilitation of the Mosquito Terminal.
• Puerto Rico Ports Authority Development Department: $8.3 million for reconstruction of the Fajardo Ferry Terminal, the purchase of ferry boat equipment, and preventive maintenance.
• Puerto Rico Ports Authority Development Department: $1.3 million for repairs and improvements to the Acuaexpreso Maintenance Building Facility, installation of surveillance and security for the facility, and for project administration..
• The Municipality of Carolina: $831,498 for maintenance facility rehabilitation, signs and bus shelters, miscellaneous equipment, and preventative maintenance. 
• The Municipality of Lares: $1.2 million: the purchase of six trolleys and a minibus, construction of a maintenance garage, and preventive maintenance.

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Waco: $3.0 million for the purchase of a bus, support equipment, computer software, and preventive maintenance.
• The City of El Paso/Sun Metro: $15.1 million to construct the Glory Road and Westside transit terminals, perform mid-life rebuild of 25 buses, and to purchase 200 accessible bus shelters. Funds will also be used to purchase computer hardware and software and 25 automated vehicle locator systems
• The Gulf Coast Center: $2.4 million for the construction of the Victory Lakes park-and-ride lot.
• Fort Bend County: $2.7 million for the purchase of eight buses, construction of a park-and-ride lot, and miscellaneous equipment.
• The Harris County Community and Economic Development Department: $922,000 to purchase shelters and fare collection equipment, as well as to pay for the capital costs of contracting and operating assistance.

The following grants are being awarded:

• Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads: $24.1 for the purchase of seven 40-foot buses and the construction of a maintenance facility in Norfolk, as well as renovations and equipment.

• Greater Roanoke Transit Company: $580,000 for the purchase of six 30-foot buses for paratransit service, fareboxes for four trolley buses, a supervisory vehicle, shop equipment and an automatic vehicle locator system. 

The following grants are being awarded:

• Waukesha Metro: $1.5 million for eight vans, fareboxes, a parking lot, a bus washer, and transit enhancements. 
• Lacrosse Municipal Transit Utility: $1.1 million for the purchase of a bus, fare equipment, a communication system, maintenance equipment, support vehicles, bus shelters, miscellaneous equipment, and facility rehabilitation.
• City of Sheboygan: $2.1 million to purchase five 35-foot buses, two support vehicles, and other capital items.
• Ozaukee County Transit: $591,323 to purchase five vans, six station wagons, bus shelters, paratransit vehicles, equipment and computer hardware and software.
• City of Onalaska: $208,000 to purchase five minivans and bus shelters.

• Access to the Region’s Core (ARC)/Mass Transit Tunnel: $130 Million for the nine-mile commuter rail Mass Transit Tunnel project connecting New Jersey and Manhattan will be used as follows: $110 million for design and engineering expenses, as well as costs associated with construction and project management activities; and $20 million for a new underpass structure to carry Route 1& 9 over the new ARC Core tracks and modifications to the building located at 2001 Tonnelle Ave.

• Bus Rehabilitation: $35.0 million will be used for rehabilitation of NJ TRANSIT’s bus fleet includes replacement of various bus components such as engines, transmissions, pumps, motors, and other parts, as well as major body work and structural repairs.

• Lower Hack Drawbridge Rehabilitation (Phase II): $30 million will be used for rehabilitation of the Lower Hack drawbridge, a three-track bridge that carries NJ TRANSIT’s Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton Line trains over the Hackensack River between Kearny and Jersey City in Hudson County. Rehabilitation will include concrete and structural steel repairs.

• Morristown Line Bi-Directional Signal Improvements: $25 million for the installation of a train traffic control system on the Morristown Line of NJ TRANSIT’s Morris & Essex Lines. This system allows for bi-directional train operation on a two-track segment between Summit and Denville, providing increased capacity and flexibility on NJ TRANSIT’s commuter rail system.

• River LINE Cab Signal System - $24 Million for the design, purchase and installation of an Automatic Train Control (ATC) signal system for NJ TRANSIT’s 34-mile River LINE light rail system, which provides service between Camden and Trenton, NJ. An ATC system will permit the train operator to view the current signal restrictions from the cab of the light rail vehicle, rather than relying on wayside signals along the right-of-way. In addition to providing a significant enhancement in managing train movements, an ATC system satisfies the requirement of the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008 to install “Positive Train Control” by December 2015.

• Plauderville Station/High-Level Platform: $15 million to install high-level platforms, canopies, heated shelters, and ramps at the Plauderville Station, which serves the Bergen County Commuter Rail Line and local bus service in Garfield, NJ, allowing boarding for persons with disabilities.

• ACCESS LINK and Atlantic City Jitney Vehicle Purchases: $16 million for ACCESS LINK is NJ TRANSIT’s paratransit service that is available for individuals who cannot use NJ TRANSIT’s regular bus service. Funds will be used as follows:

   - $10.8 million to purchase 137 minibuses, 47 of which will replace aging vehicles.
   - $1.3 million to purchase 24 vans.
   - $1.6 million to purchase 57 sedans.
   - $2.3 million for replacement of 30 minibuses to provide feeder bus service to the Atlantic City Rail station from destinations throughout Atlantic City.

• Edison Station Park and Ride: $11 million for the construction of a supplemental parking facility to serve the increased commuter needs at NJ TRANSIT’s Edison Station, including construction of an approximately 475-space surface parking lot with new daily and monthly permit spaces on the outbound side of the existing station.

• Enhanced Track Rehabilitation Project: $4.7 million for replacement of ties, rails and switches along various rail lines throughout the system.

• $2.5 million for 175 bus shelters, as well as improvements to bus signage, passenger information display installation, and lighting in bus boarding areas throughout New Jersey.

• $2.0 million for construction of an intermodal transit center and parking facility in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

• $2.0 million for exterior pedestrian traffic and circulation improvements on the west side of Newark Penn Station.

• $1.5 million for rehabilitation of commuter rail rolling stock, including repair and replacement of major system components of commuter passenger rail cars and locomotives.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• The Alabama Department of Transportation: $4 million to fund small urban transportation programs in Auburn-Opelika, Phenix City, Anniston, Florence, Decatur, and Dothan. Funds will be used for the purchase of 28 buses and 11 vans, support vehicles, bus shelters, radio signal and communications equipment, and additional capital program items, including preventive maintenance and paratransit management activities.

• City of Montgomery: $3.5 million to be used for three motor buses, one trolley bus, technology upgrades, security and surveillance equipment upgrades, electronic fareboxes and related equipment, shop equipment,  and preventative maintenance, as well as facility improvements and modifications.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Lompoc: $1.3 million to purchase one 40-foot replacement coach, two ADA vans, four 30-foot replacement buses, security improvement and safety equipment.

• Southern California Regional Rail Authority: $21.9 million to fund safety and capacity improvements on the Metrolink system; positive train control on the Metrolink System.

• City of Commerce: $581,682 to purchase one 35-foot low-floor bus and transit management software.

• City of Claremont: $124,748 to purchase two 25-foot paratransit buses.

• San Diego Association of Governments: $73 million to fund construction of the multi-modal transit center, rail electrification, track improvements and a bridge replacement; design and construction of the trolley wayside and trackway modifications including stations to support new low-floor vehicle operations on the Blue Line.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• The City of Fresno: $10.9 million will be used for the purchase of four buses, a new regional automated fare collection system, a CNG compressor, and support vehicles, as well as the performance of bus preventive maintenance and needed transit enhancements for the community.

• The City of Modesto: $5.6 million for preventive maintenance and transit enhancements at the historic transit center.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Jacksonville Transportation Authority: $10 million to purchase 12 vans, rehabilitate /renovate facility, park-and-ride lot, fare collection equipment, rehabilitate rail station and preventative maintenance.

• Palm Beach County Board of Commissioners-Palm Beach County Transit Authority: $17.1 million to fund 25 40-foot replacement buses, Belle Glade maintenance facility, miscellaneous capital maintenance expenses and surveillance security.

The City of Lawrence will use the funds to purchase two security-equipped 40-foot buses.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Shreveport: $4.7 million will be used to purchase five buses, security equipment, and software; to renovate an existing bus terminal and maintenance facility and to construct a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station; and to perform preventive vehicle maintenance.

• Plaquemine Parrish: $300,000 will be used for preventive maintenance for the Belle Chase Ferry.

The Maryland Transit Administration will use the funds for the following projects:

• Replacement of the two 25-year old elevators at the MARC BWI Station.
• Improvement to the heating system at the MARC Penn Station.
• Demolition of the bridge abutments, roadway, bridges, ramps, retaining walls, and grading in order to remove the unused elevated highway adjacent to the MARC West Baltimore Rail Station and prepare the site for expansion of surface parking.
• Improvements to lighting, tracks, and shop facilities at the MARC Martins Maintenance Facility to allow future overnight storage of train sets and increased utility of the facility for future railcar maintenance.
• Addition of two new traction power substations on the northern end of the MTA Light Rail Transit system (Gilroy Road and Industry Lane).
• Replacement of the existing public address system with an audible and visual real-time information system in all MTA-owned MARC train station.

 The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) will use the funds to purchase 95 buses, 75 of which will replace aging buses and 20 of which will expand MTA’s fleet.13
One trolley bus and one five-passenger minivan, associated capital maintenance items including: gas engine, transmission and AC unit, automated destination signs, fare collection equipment, security and surveillance equipment,  bus passenger shelters, and transit equipment and technology.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority: $264 million for 18 40-foot replacement buses and and rail improvements.

• City of Long Beach: $545,000 for one 30-foot hybrid-electric trolley bus.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Suffolk County: $9.5 million: for the purchase of 30 35-foot replacement buses.

• New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority: $393 million: for construction and procurement of materials for rail station rehabilitation at five locations, transit enhancement and communication equipment.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Borough of Pottstown: $1.1 million to purchase two 35-foot transit buses and an intermodal bus facility.

• City of Washington: $515,000 to fund the City of Washington Intermodal Transit Center and Garage Project.

• Beaver County Transit Authority: $1.9 million to fund renovations for the Administrative/Maintenance Facility in Center Township and fuel management system.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Brazos Texas Transit: $2.8 million to construct the Bryan Transit and Parking Facility.

• Dallas Area Rapid Transit: $78.4 million to fund the NW/SE Light Rail Transit Line.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission: $13.6 million to purchase one 40-foot bus, one 30-foot bus stop signage, shelters, locomotive and equipment.

• Greater Lynchburg Transit Company: $5.1 million to purchase seven 30-foot replacement buses, equipment and passenger amenities.

• City of Harrisonburg: $1.6 million to purchase four 35-foot replacement buses, passenger shelters, ADA equipment and passenger amenities.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation: $3.8 million for the purchase of 50 vans, two buses, engineering/architectural services, and paving for rural operators throughout the state.

• Town of Blacksburg: $4.5 million to purchase seven buses, equipment, computer hardware and software, and passenger amenities.

• Greater Richmond Transit Company: $12.5 million for the purchase of 38 vans for paratransit service, 11 40-foot replacement buses, preventative maintenance, bus stop signs and vehicle surveillance cameras.

The Town of Morgantown will use the funds to purchase closed circuit TV’s cameras, a public address system, and message boards for each of the five passenger stations along West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit System.

Fairbanks North Star Borough will use the funds to pay for four vans, bus enunciators, a new bus washer, security cameras for buses and vans, security gate at a facility, a tire mounting machine, luminator signs for the buses, a new diesel fuel dispenser and a park and ride lot in North Pole, AK.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• University of Arkansas, Fayetteville: $1.3 million to purchase three buses, Addition and to renovate the administrative/maintenance facility and to renovate bus passenger shelters.

• City of Hot Springs: $744,481 to purchase four buses, to rebuild three bus engines, and to perform preventive maintenance.

• Fort Smith Transit: $1.8 million for four buses, administrative/maintenance facility renovation, and bus shelters.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Roseville: $1.3 million to rebuild and refurbish 33 buses.

• Imperial County: $1.2 million to build a bus transfer facility on an existing piece of unimproved property in El Centro. This project will facilitate the transfer of passengers between the intercity and intracity bus systems. Funding will provide for important upgrades to the site that will provide for added security, increased building longevity, adequate roadway design for bus traffic, ADA compliance, improved site drainage and reduced energy consumption. Funding will also be used for the upgrading of the intersection State and 7th Streets.

• City of Los Angeles: $8 million for the purchase of 16 new 40-foot. over-the-road, CNG coaches to replace aging diesel buses.

• Culver City: $3.6 million for preventive maintenance, improvements to the intermodal station at Robertson Boulevard, and improvements to the pedestrian connections between Culver City bus stops and the intermodal station.

• Omnitrans, San Bernardino County: $20.7 million for preventive maintenance and to buy equipment and software, preventive maintenance, equipment, and spare parts. Funds will also be used to purchase fareboxes for 144 coaches and a video surveillance system, as well as for the construction of the Yucaipa Transit Center, which will be the eastern terminus for Omnitrans, Access and Omnilink services.

• Napa County Transportation Planning Agency: $2.8 million for the purchase of four gasoline hybrid-electric powered low-floor buses which will replace aging diesel buses, as well as for the construction of a park-and-ride intermodal transit facility in Napa..

• San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission: $1.7 million to upgrade their track and railbed for the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) trains.

• Eastern Contra Costa Transit Authority: $4 million for preventive maintenance, resurfacing of the bus parking lot, and the replacement of driver exchange and staff cars. Funds will also be used for a new information technology system that will allow automatic vehicle location and passenger counting.

• City of Madera: $1.2 million to purchase eight buses and 13 passenger shelters, and to perform preventive maintenance for the transit fleet.

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will use the funds to pay for the purchase of 47 buses, 74 vans, and security equipment, as well as the replacement of the Southeast garage, the renovation of the bus body and paint shop, the upgrading of rail stations, and track repair.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Jacksonville Transportation Authority: $36,559 for guideway improvements.

• Volusia Transportation Authority: $8.4 million for the purchase of 17 hybrid buses and for the rehabilitation of facilities to reduce energy consumption and to implement cost saving measures.

• Miami-Dade Transit Agency: $2.8 million for the refurbishment of Bicentennial Park Metromover Station, the installation of a Wi-Fi demonstration project to help support eventual implementation of a Wi-Fi system on the entire Metrorail, and miscellaneous refurbishment of Metrorail track.

• Escambia County Board of Commissioners: $4 million for the purchase of 10 buses and three minibuses.

• Collier county Board of County Commissioners: $3 million to purchase two electric hybrid buses and to provide enhancement to transit technology, paratransit services, and facility security.

• Capital Area Transit System in Baton Rouge: $6.6 million to purchase six buses, and three trolley buses, mobile security equipment, support vehicles, and miscellaneous support equipment..

• Crescent City Connection Division, New Orleans: $2.8 million to repair the Chalmette Ferry landing which is in imminent danger of collapse. This ferry is used by approximately 500,000 vehicles each year to cross the Mississippi River from Orleans Parish to St. Bernard Parish. Without this crossing the public would have a 20-mile detour.

• City of Alexandria: $1.2 million to purchase four buses, six vans, and two support vehicles, and to perform preventive maintenance.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission: $3.2 million for the purchase of four 35-foot buses, nine 29-foot paratransit vehicles, stop annunciation and visual systems, a staff car, and a shop truck.

• East Grand Forks: $159,770 for the purchase of two low-floor, 30-foot replacement buses, fare collections system, and a security camera.

• City of Moorhead: $1.2 million for the purchase of one replacement 35-foot bus, one 30-foot bus, a shop truck, an automatic vehicle locator system, miscellaneous equipment, and an automatic bus announcement system.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of High Point: $623,500 for the purchase of six light transit vehicles, bus shelters, and bus stop landing pads.

• City of Greensboro: $5.4 million for construction of the Greensboro Transit Authority maintenance and operations facility and administrative offices.

New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ TRANSIT) will use the funds for modernizing and improvements to New Jersey Transit’s fixed guideway system to maintain a state of good repair, including:

• System-wide track improvements and replacement of switches.

• Repair and replacement of major systems within NJ TRANSIT’s commuter rail passenger car fleet, as well as the diesel and electric locomotive fleet.

• Construction of additional light rail track, switches, catenary and signals for the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail System in Jersey City and Bayonne.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Santa Fe: $1.4 million for the purchase of two 30-foot buses, 60 shelters, and mobile security equipment.

• City of Las Cruces: $1.7 million to purchase three 30-foot buses, equipment, and maintenance facility upgrades.  

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Lower Savannah Council of Governments: $561,000 for the Travel Management Coordination Center Facility, construction and expansion of the administrative facility and two 30-foot paratransit vehicles.

• Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority: $955,925 for preventive maintenance and rehabilitation of trolleys, and facility engineering/design and rehabilitation activities.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency: $855,317 to renovate the Cleveland Depot and to purchase three 30-foot buses, seven bus shelters, automatic vehicle locator system, and communications equipment.

• City of Murfreesboro: $2.2 million to purchase bus shelters and passenger amenities, 15 vans for the regional vanpool, transportation system technology, and two 40-foot hybrid coaches to expand express bus service on the Southeast Corridor.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Tyler: $968,600 to purchase five buses, 24 bus shelters and 40 trash receptacles.
 
• Denton County Transportation Authority: $4.1 million to purchase five 40-foot buses and 20 electronic fareboxes, on-board surveillance equipment and scheduling software, and to construct 35 passenger shelters and a park-and-ride lot.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Transportation District Commission of Hampton Roads: $437,148 to fund preventative maintenance costs associated with the Elizabeth Ferries, as well as other vehicles used in the agency’s service.

• City of Winchester: $51,100 to purchase surveillance/security equipment, and computer hardware and software.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Pierce County Public Works Department: $1.3 million to rehabilitate ferry and ferry terminals.

• Skagit Transit System: $494,274 to construct South Mount Vernon and March`s
  Point park and ride Lots.

• California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) will receive $34 million for transit upgrades in rural communities. This grant is uses ARRA funding for the purchase of 105 buses, two vans, 11 automobiles, seven trolleys and one commuter vehicle. Funds will also be used to build and renovate facilities, as well as to purchase and install bus fare collection systems, computer hardware and software, signal and communications equipment, bus route signs and bus shelters, and to perform preventive maintenance.

• Sacramento Regional Transit District will receive $23 million to purchase 11 minivans to provide paratransit service and one 57-passenger diesel commuter bus, to retrofit and overhaul 13 light rail vehicles, and to replace an aging telephone and call recording system for the paratransit office, as well as for paratransit service operations and preventive maintenance.

• San Luis Obispo Regional Transit Authority will receive $1.2 million for three buses, preventive maintenance, electronic fare collection systems, bus stop improvements, and other vehicles and amenities.

Grants were awarded as follows:

• Charlotte County: $2.1 million for the purchase of five buses, three passenger vans, mobile data computers and automatic vehicle location equipment, and other capital items, including bus shelters and bicycle racks.

• Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority in Tampa: $15.2 million to purchase 22 buses and to perform renovation of a transit maintenance facility.

• Polk County Board of Commissioners: $2.7 million to purchase five heavy-duty transit buses, to purchase and install transit technology, and to perform vehicle maintenance, and bus stop improvements.

• South Florida Regional Transportation Authority in Miami: $13.6 million to replace four locomotives that have outlived their useful lives, and to fund beautification improvements such as landscaping and painting at various transit facilities.

• Bay County Transportation Planning Organization in Pensacola: $2.4 million construction of a new transit facility; preventive maintenance for existing fleet; new technology, including automatic passenger counting, automated fareboxes, and stop annunciators for existing vehicles; bus shelters, and a service vehicle. 

• Space Coast Area Transit in Cocoa: $6.9 million to purchase 16 buses, 20 vans, and six bus shelters. Funds will also be used for rehabilitation and construction of the Melbourne terminal, which was built in 1973.

Valley Regional Transit will use the funds for upgrades and improvements for 148 existing bus stops.

River Valley Metro Mass Transit District will use the funds to install a fuel island near the transit agency’s maintenance garage, and to resurface the parking lot and replace the roof and lighting of its administration building.

Funds will be used to purchase six hybrid buses, to upgrade fare collections equipment, to replace one existing support vehicle with a hybrid support vehicle, to purchase passenger amenities, bus shelters and route signs, to perform preventive maintenance, and for equipment and facilities.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Ohio Department of Transportation: $3.4 million for the purchase of six 40-foot intercity buses to expand service and rehabilitation of two transit facilities and bus shelter.

• Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority: $23.4 million for a transit center, rail cars and station rehabs, new bus terminal, 35 22-foot paratransit vehicles and a rapid transit line.

• Greene County Transit Board: $960,000 for the purchase of electronic destination signs, electronic fare boxes, automatic bus washer, security cameras, GPS/phone system, security cameras, maintenance equipment, generators and a support vehicle.

 The City of Wilsonville will use the funds for improvements on the Wilsonville Commuter Rail Station.  

Grants are being awarded as follows:

•  Pennsylvania Department of Transportation: $30.2 million for the purchase of 45 35-foot buses, two 30-foot buses, three 40-foot vehicles, rebuild four 35-foot buses, construct intermodal transit center; rehabilitate/renovate administrative and maintenance facility and park & ride lot.

• Port Authority of Allegheny County: $62.5 million for the North Shore Connector Project.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

•  Municipality of Barceloneta: $725,000 for the purchase of one 30-foot bus trolley replica, two-foot small buses and passenger shelters.

• Municipality of Manati: $187,500 for the reconstruction of Publico Terminal Roof.

• Municipality of Cidra: $1 million for Cidra’s Solar Energy and security power system and $264,326 for a security fence and improvements to trolley stops.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Spartanburg: $1 million for the purchase of a 35-foot hybrid expansion bus, a maintenance truck, a stationary fare collection receiver, a coin counter/sorter, a security camera system, a farebox ticket vending machine, mounted bicycle racks, a portable bus lifting system and preventative maintenance. 

• Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority in Columbia: $4.2 million for the purchase of 10 heavy duty low-floor buses, refurbishment of 10 existing fixed router buses; CMRTA Transit Center renovations, audio equipment and transit facility upgrades.

• Lakeway Area MPO/City of Morristown: $797,289 for the purchase of two 30-foot buses, two 30-foot hybrid buses and 20 bus shelters.
 
• Regional Transportation Authority in Nashville: $2.3 million for the engineering and design of the Martha Station, one refurbished commuter rail locomotive, 14 vans, marketing and management of vanpool system and program administration and coordination.

• Metropolitan Transit Authority in Nashville: $6.9 million for the preliminary engineering of the MTA Bus Maintenance Facility, three 60-foot hybrid articulated buses, two 40-foot hybrid low-floor buses, shelter and miscellaneous equipment.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Galveston: $1.6 million for the completion of two maintenance facilities for Island Transit.
 
• VIA Metropolitan Transit Authority in San Antonio: $30.2 million to purchase 28 40-foot and one 35-foot replacement bus, fare collection and communication equipment, shelters, kiosks and new signs.

• Texas Department of Transportation: $7.6 million to rehabilitate/renovate intercity bus facilities, purchase two full-size revenue vans and one 45-foot intercity over-the-road revenue coach.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• City of Eau Claire: $2 million for the purchase of four 35-foot replacement buses, one 40-foot replacement bus, diesel fuel vehicles and capital items.
 
• City of Appleton: $1.5 million to purchase three 29-foot hybrid electrical buses, capital items, roof replacement, passenger shelters, fareboxes and route signs.

Grants are being awarded as follows: 

• The City of Tucson: $16 million to begin construction of Phase III of a bus storage and maintenance facility for Sun Tran, Tucson’s Mass Transit Provider. Phase III of the project includes architectural design and construction to expand the maintenance building to include a body shop, heavy repair, and additional wash facilities, as well as bus parking and canopies to operate and maintain as many as 250 buses.

• Arizona Department of Transportation: $12 million will be used to purchase 30 replacement buses, four additional buses, and two support vehicles.  Funds will also be used to build new transit facilities and expand and remodel new facilities; to construct park-and-ride lots, bus storage lots with shelters, a transfer station, and bio-diesel fueling stations; and to purchase various support equipment. 

• Northern Arizona Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority: $1.2 million will be used to purchase one 35-foot hybrid electric bus and four passenger shelters for key locations along the fixed transit route in Flagstaff; to support a multi-modal transfer center at the Flagstaff Mall, connecting the Flagstaff Urban Trail System to public transit; and for the engineering and design of the Mountain Links Project bus rapid transit project.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• The City of Manteca: $650,000 for transit system improvements.

• Sacramento Regional Transit District: $946,296 for light rail preventive maintenance.
 
• City of Elk Grove, Development Services, Transit Services: $4 million for the purchase of eight 40-foot replacement buses.

• Butte County Association of Governments: $1.8 million for the purchase of four 35-foot replacement buses and paratransit operations.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA): $7.4 million for the upgrade and replacement of the fire protection system for MARTA rail stations, lines, and facilities. Funding will also be used to support engineering, design of the models for each facility, and the initial implementation phases of the project.

• Henry County Board of Commissioners: $427,674 to purchase two 30-foot, 16-passenger, wheelchair-equipped buses and one 15-passenger van.  Funds will also be used to update communications equipment, software, security radios and cameras, and for preventive maintenance.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Kootenai County: $570,000 for the lease of two 30-foot vehicles and four expansion vans.

• Valley Regional Transit: $6.2 million for the purchase of eight 35-foot replacement buses, computer equipment, upgrades, and improvements for 721 existing bus stops in the Boise area.

Funds will be used to purchase 36 vans for 10 different transit providers across the State of Kansas. In addition, this funding will remodel the annex building of OCCK, Inc. in Salina, Kansas. This grant will also provide funding for the purchase and installation of upgrading communications technology equipment at 16 sites serving transit systems throughout the state.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development: $9.2 million for the purchase of 91 vans and mobile security equipment.

• City of Lake Charles: $2.1 million for the rehabilitation and renovation of administrative/maintenance facility.

• Houma Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government: $2.1 million for the purchase of seven buses, shop and fare collection equipment, and communications equipment.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Metrowest Regional Transit Authority: $750,000 to purchase one 25-foot replacement bus and three sedans for paratransit service, hardware and software; and for paratransit operating assistance.

• Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority: $7.2 million to build the Amesbury Transportation Center and to rehabilitate the Haverhill Office and Maintenance Facility, and to purchase and install surveillance equipment for both facilities.

Funds will be used to support five transit capital projects associated with enhancing the St. Louis, Missouri/Illinois Metrolink light rail system.  The five components include:

• Eads Bridge Rehabilitation - painting and structural repair to the historic Eads Bridge. The Eads Bridge is a key component of the MetroLink light rail system providing Illinois and Missouri passenger access across the Mississippi River.

• North Hanley Parking Lot Replacement/Bus Loop Improvements – construction of additional bus capacity and passenger amenities at this key park and ride and bus/rail transfer location in order to help meet customer demand.

• Track improvement throughout the MetroLink light rail system, including replacement of rail and ties as well as installation of a switch track interlock at the University of Missouri station.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Miami County Board of County Commissioners: $790,360 to purchase six 30-foot transit vehicles, facility rehabilitation with enhanced security systems and computer software to improve operations and data tracking.

• Ohio Department of Transportation: $7.3 million towards construction of transit facilities in Pike, Carroll, and Ottawa Counties.

• Central Ohio Transit Authority: $15.3 million for the renovation of two facilities, support vehicles, and other capital needs.

• Lorain County Transit Board: $4 million for facility renovations, three 30-foot replacement buses, and communication system equipment.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Oklahoma Department of Transportation: $17 million to purchase 138 vans and 108 buses for use throughout the state.

• Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority: $5 million to purchase 3 buses, 35 vans, security equipment, radios, and bus shelters, and to provide non-fixed route paratransit service.

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Lane Transit District: $3 million to purchase three 60-foot bus rapid transit vehicles.

• City of Wilsonville: $369,663 for multimodal station improvements, including a kitchen and restrooms, landscaping, exterior lighting, and utility upgrades.

Snohomish County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corp will  receive $425,000 for renovations and improvements for the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center parking lot. Whatcom Transportation Authority will receive $1.7 million to purchase five 35-foot low-floor coaches.

The City of Mobile will receive $4.1 million for the purchase of 10 buses, two expansion vans, and a radio communications system.

City of Davis: $3.9 million to fund the replacement of nine 40-foot buses.

Riverside Transit Agency:  $17.4 million to provide for transit operations in Riverside County, including the purchase of benches, shelters, light poles and extensions, signs, trash receptacles, and other ancillary features that will enhance the safety and security of the bus stops and transit facilities.

City of Santa Monica Municipal Bus Lines: $14.3 million to purchase 15 alternative fuel replacement buses and 83 bus shelters.

City of Santa Rosa:  $4.2 million for paratransit services, solar bus shelters and partial funding of a 40 foot hybrid electric bus.

Victor Valley Transit Authority:  $3.4 million for the construction of an administration and maintenance facility in Apple Valley.

Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority:  $47.5 million to purchase seventy-five 40-foot hybrid replacement buses and for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) bus stop improvements.

City of Benicia:  $132,000 to replace 12 existing bus shelters and upgrade the current fueling station.

City of San Luis Obispo: $1,023,660 an automatic vehicle locator passenger access internet, fare boxes and facility improvements.

Orange County Transportation Authority:  $76.8 million for preventive maintenance of the Orange County Transportation Authority fleet of 583 vehicles and four bus bases. The funds will also be used for capital cost of contracting for purchasing transit service and associated maintenance of 356 revenue vehicles. Funds will also be used to install fall protection cable systems and related modifications to increase work safety at maintenance bases, at 1717 Via Burton in Anaheim and Santa Ana, California.

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority: $66.7 million to continue the construction phase of the Eastside Light Rail Extension.

The City of Fort Collins will receive $3.4 million to fund four replacement minivans, six 40-foot and one 35-foot replacement buses, and one 35-foot expansion bus. Funds will also be used for implementation of a proximity card fare collection system and procurement of support equipment.

The City of Colorado Springs will receive $4.5 million to fund eligible capital projects that support preventive maintenance, paratransit operations, and the capital cost of contracting for FY 2010.

Estuary Transit District in Old Saybrook will receive funds for the purchase of two 30-foot buses. 

Windham Regional Transit District in Willimantic will receive funds for the purchase of fourteen 30-foot buses, signage, and support equipment including bus shelters. 

Northwestern CT Transit District in Torrington will receive funds for the purchase of two 30-foot buses.

Northeastern CT Transit District in Dayville will receive funds for the purchase of five less than 30-foot buses, signage, support equipment including bus shelters and office equipment. Funds will also be used for facility improvements to the maintenance facility.

Indian River County Board of County Commissioners in Vero Beach: $2.3 million to fund a design/build contract for the engineering, design, and construction of a transit administration building for Indian River Transit.

Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners: $1.4 million to purchase five shelters equipped with solar light kits and bike racks, 10 solar light kits for installation on existing shelters, a bus wash, and improvements to an existing parking lot.

City of Gainesville: $692,296 to purchase two 40-foot low-floor buses that have an expected useful life of 12 years or 500,000 miles.

Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority: $34,618 to fund street car maintenance activities.

Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners will receive $9.4 million to purchase two replacement buses and to rehabilitate and rebuild twenty-eight 40-foot compressed natural gas buses. Funds will also be used on security and transit enhancements, such as construction of pedestrian access and walkways.

The City of Lewiston will receive $546,956 to fund the purchase of two cutaway, under 30-foot buses and for the construction of seven bus shelters, one enclosed bay for bus maintenance, and one open bay for bus washing. Funds will also be used to install maintenance facility security fencing.

The City of Lafayette will receive $2,747,057 to purchase one 35-foot bus, shelters, preventive maintenance and signs.

Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation and Public Works in Grenfield will receive $12.8 million for the construction of the Franklin County Regional Transit Center in downtown Greenfield, MA. The FCRTC will accommodate all of Franklin Regional Transit Authority’s (FRTA) fixed route bus lines, private intercity service, paratransit, taxi and human service transportation in the region, as well as administrative offices for the FRTA.

Minnesota Department of Transportation Office of Transit, Glencoe: $2.5 million for the Trailblazer Transit Facility including a heated garage for 20 small buses busses and new operations/office space for dispatchers. 

Minnesota Department of Transportation Office of Transit Statewide: $7.4 million to purchase 49 30-foot buses, two 35-foot buses and five 45-foot. Intercity motorcoaches for replacement.

Metropolitan Council, Minneapolis-St. Paul Region: $1.8 million to purchase three new metro transit buses.

Metropolitan Council, Minneapolis-St. Paul Region: $49.5 million will be used to buy 31- 40 foot replacement buses; 30 Hybrid electric 40 foot replacement buses; 26 articulated replacement buses and 16-30 foot replacements buses.

State Development Agency, St. Louis, Missouri: $1.2 million will be used to repair the St. Louis Metro guidway support.

Cape Fear Public Transportation Authority (CFPTA) in Wilmington: $2.5 million to purchase two 35-foot hybrid low-floor replacement buses, two vans, two hybrid support vehicles, bus shelters, and a variety of equipment. Funds will also be used to construct an access road to the new CFPTA Central Transfer and Administration Facility and to support environmental review and design of an operations and maintenance facility.

The City of Concord: $1.3 million to fund an automatic vehicle location/global positioning satellite system for complete tracking of 10 buses, including hardware, software, and training. Automated electronic fareboxes will be purchased for 10 buses and one spare. Funds will also be used to purchase two non-revenue service vans.

The City of Asheville: $2.6 million to purchase eight low-floor buses, one van, and 10 bus shelters.

The City of Fayetteville: $3.1 million to purchase five hybrid-electric 35-foot replacement buses.

The Town of Chapel Hill: $2.7 million to purchase two replacement 40-foot hybrid-electric buses, eight replacement lift-equipped vans, and one replacement maintenance truck. Funds will also be used to purchase bus shelters and benches, and software and hardware for a new fleet inventory system.

The City of Durham: $4.3 million to fund preventive maintenance, painting of 30 fixed-route buses, the purchase of 15 paratransit replacement vans, and the purchase of nine paratransit expansion vans. Funds will also be used to install a 1,200 square foot storage shed, to purchase 20 bus shelters, and a Real-Time Bus Arrival/AVL/GPS hardware and related software system.

The City of Charlotte: $20.8 million for the renovation and expansion of Charlotte Area Transit Authority’s (CATS) North Davidson Facility. Funds will also be used to develop a new administration, operations, and maintenance facility for CATS Special Transportation Service.

The Western Piedmont Regional Transit Authority in Hickory: $2.5 million to purchase three 28-foot, low-floor, accessible bio-diesel buses, three 22-foot lift-equipped hybrid-electric buses, and one van conversion with lift. Funds will also be used to re-brand five 35-foot buses and up to 50 vans and light transit vehicles, and to purchase and install 350 new bus stops, a ticket vending machine, surveillance video cameras, 35 mobile data computers, 38 fareboxes, and other equipment.

Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority: $885,922 to purchase one 35-foot replacement bus, one 35-foot expansion bus, bus shelter and bus stop signs, electronic fare boxes, security cameras and radios.

Triangle Transit Authority in Durham and Raleigh: $2.8 million to purchase five 40-foot replacement buses and three paratransit replacement vans. Funds will also be used for a real-time bus arrival system, the re-paving of the bus and operations maintenance facility, and various passenger amenities at high-use bus stops.

The City of Raleigh: $7.6 million to purchase a 23 acre site for the construction of Capital Area Transit’s (CAT) new Operations and Maintenance Facility. The facility will have training rooms, 125 bus maintenance building and have a park and ride lot adjacent to the facility.

The City of Farmington will receive $790,312 to replace four 32-foot trolley-type buses, two vans and two small buses that have exceeded their useful lives.

The Greater Falls Transit System will receive $1.2 million to purchase a hybrid expansion vehicle and for various capital projects.

The Capital District Transportation Authority will receive $15.7 million to purchase 40 new 40 foot low floor vehicles, six paratransit vehicles and five shuttle vehicles.

Metro Regional Transit Authority in Akron: $8.4 million to fund six commuter-style buses, four 40-foot low-floor buses, and nine buses for paratransit use. Funds will also be used for the replacement of the roof on a bus storage barn, replacement of bus hoists, repair of driveway asphalt, passenger shelters, and trash cans.

Portage Area Regional Transportation Authority in Kent: $981,392 to fund facility renovation, architectural and engineering, and preventive maintenance.

City of Niles - Trumbull Transit Service: $514,420 to fund the capital cost of contracting expenses to transport young adults with special needs to job training classes and sites.

Laketran in Lake County: $3.6 million to purchase 18 replacement paratransit vans and four replacement 30-foot, low-floor transit buses. The funds will also be used for transit enhancements consisting of signage to improve safety and security at two park-n-ride lots, new radios, and preventive maintenance projects.

Sandusky Transit System: $848,579 to purchase eight light transit vehicles and four vans, transit enhancements, and other capital items. Funds will also be used to purchase and install eight passenger shelters for a new JARC route.

Stark Area Regional Transit Authority in Canton: $5.1 million to fund various capital investment projects, including the purchase of nine replacement 35-foot, hybrid diesel-electric buses, surveillance cameras, bike racks for existing fixed-route buses, and replacement of a bus washer system in the maintenance facility.

Licking County Transit Board: $373,177 to purchase four expansion buses, mobile data computers, automated vehicle locators, facility cameras and a keyless entry system.

City of Springfield: $1.6 million to purchase as many as six buses, preventive maintenance and facility upgrades.

Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority in Allentown: $7.7 million to fund 17 replacement vans, three 21-foot vans, two 40-foot and three 35-foot hybrid electric buses, and the purchase and installation of a real-time passenger information and AVL system. The grant will also fund pre-fabricated shelters and equipment, bus stop signage, and a state-of-the-art bus maintenance, bus storage, and administration facility at LANTA’s Allentown Operating Headquarters.

Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority: $1.9 million to purchase six low-floor, 40-foot replacement transit buses with enhanced security measures.

Transportation and Motor Buses for Public Use Authority in Altoona: $1.5 million to complete major renovations at AMTRAN’s main facility buildings that will include an on-site conference room and training center as well as prepare a site for future joint development use.

County of Fayette: $923,540 for engineering/design and construction of a transit service center, bus transfer/park and ride facility, and vehicle storage area.

Cambria County Transit Authority in Johnstown: $1.3 million to renovate the original concrete deck floor of the Transit Center located in downtown Johnstown and to purchase one accessible, 35-foot hybrid-electric bus.

Franklin Transit Authority: $310,000 to fund the purchase of automatic vehicle locator equipment and software for transit vehicles and three ADA compliant passenger shelters.  

City of Kingsport: $1.3 million to purchase new gasoline-powered vehicles, including passenger lift-equipped mini-buses and vans.   

City of Wichita Falls, Texas: $1.8 million to purchase four thirty-five foot buses, safety equipment, and upgrades for fare collections.

Concho Valley Transit District, San Angelo, Texas: $1.6 million for the Concho Valley Transit Terminal.

Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, Harlingen, Texas: $2 million to purchase seven expansion buses. The funds will also be used towards vehicle storage facilities and equipment.

City of McAllen/McAllen Express Transit, McAllen, Texas: $2.4 million dollars will be used to buy seven 34-foot buses to expand the fleet.

City of Texarkana, Texarkana, Texas: $1.1 million will be used to build a transfer station and city offices.

Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council, McAllen, Texas: $2.4 million will be used to purchase a total of 10 buses, a tow truck, a bus washer, and bus shelters. The remaining funds will be used for facility upgrades and transit enhancements.

North Central Texas Council of Governments, Dallas/Fort Worth Urbanized Area: $5.4 million will be used to buy 43 replacement buses, facility upgrades, and transit enhancements.

City of Grand Prairie, Grand Prairie, Texas: $192,000 will be used to purchase ADP software and radios for the city.

City of Amarillo, Amarillo, Texas: $3.6 million will be used for preventive maintenance and for the non-fixed route American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) Para transit Service.

Collin County Committee on Aging/Collin County Area Rural Transportation, McKinney, Texas: $ 1 million to purchase ADP software and hardware, security equipment, and preventative maintenance.

Corpus Christi Regional Transit Authority, Corpus Christi, Texas: $6.3 million to purchase six replacement buses, fare boxes, and ADP bus stop improvements.

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, Texas: $2.3 million to purchase and install signal, communication, and other improvement systems for Houston's Main Street light-rail-car line.

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Houston, Texas: $87.2 million for major renovation to Houston’s transportation systems. This includes 19 light rail cars for expansion purposes to be used on the Main Street Line and purchasing and installing 40 bus passenger shelters. High Occupancy Toll lanes will be installed in the Houston area along with new pavement and signage toll equipment. A new gate traffic control system will also be replaced to improve safety along the METRO.

City of Beaumont, Beaumont, Texas: $2.4 million to purchase eight replacement buses, upgrade mobile fare collection equipment, support vehicles, and passenger shelters. The funds will also renovate the Beaumont Municipal Transit's administrative building for the first time in decades including a new telephone system.

City of Arlington, Arlington, Texas: $600,000 to purchase two replacement buses, buy ADP software, and perform preventative maintenance.

Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Fort Worth, Texas: $18.6 million to purchase 40 replacement buses, security equipment including cameras, and American with Disability Act (ADA) operating assistance.

Forth Worth Transportation Authority, Forth Worth, Texas: $20 million will be used to purchase eight replacement-expanded buses and to modify the maintenance facility to accommodate the new buses. The funds will also allow for new parking facilities and preventive maintenance. The funds will also allow upgrades to the Trinity Railway Express at the Intermodal Transit Center.

The Utah Department of Transportation will receive $6.17 million to fund two bus storage facilities, the construction of one administration building, and the purchase of six buses. Mobility management activities will be funded in addition to two passenger bus shelters and communication equipment.

The City of Danville will receive $200,000 to purchase two 30-foot transit buses to replace buses in its fixed route and paratransit fleets. Passenger benches and an LED sign for the Danville Intermodal Transfer Facility will also be purchased.

The City of Longview will receive $1.1 million to make repairs to the transit bus garage, install GPS that will track transit and paratransit services and purchase one accessible hybrid transit coach, three paratransit mini-buses and a hybrid transit service vehicle.

The Clark County Public Transportation Benefit Area Authority will receive $5.8 million to three replacement buses, four replacement vans and eight additional vans.  The funds will also pay for security upgrades, an improved radio system and customer service improvements.

The City of Weirton will receive $253,129 to purchase one replacement bus with a lift, security cameras and solar bus route signs.  The grant will also cover needed maintenance, support equipment and facility renovation.

The Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority will receive $3.0 million to purchase two replacement buses with lifts, one expansion bus and four replacement vans.  The grant will also pay for minor renovations at the existing Transit Mall in downtown Charleston, the renovation of the maintenance facility and engineering/design work.

The Cities of Lodi and Galt: $2 million to purchase two 40-foot buses and make other transit improvements, including security enhancements and purchase and installation of bus shelters.

The Redding Area Bus Authority: $1.7 million to purchase nine paratransit replacement vans, three 40-foot buses and for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services.

Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District: $25.7 million for preventive maintenance and as operating funds for ADA paratransit services for period of two months.

Long Beach Public Transportation Company: $16.5 million to rehabilitate buses and upgrade a bus maintenance facility, and add bus stop amenities at as many as 194 bus stops.

The City of Gardena: $3.6 million to replace six 40-foot hybrid buses.

Sunline Transit Agency in Riverside County: $4.7 million for two bus bays, 50 bus shelters and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment on all its buses.

The City of Simi Valley: $2 million to purchase 26 replacement shelters and three 40-foot replacement, low-floor buses.

Gold Coast Transit in Oxnard: $4.4 million to purchase of eight 35-foot expansion buses and to upgrade the electronic fare collection system and allow the sale of multi-trip or day passes on-board the bus and allow pre-paid passes to be validated on the bus. Funds will also be used for four replacement supervisory vehicles.

City of Porterville: $1.3 million to purchase two 35-foot compressed natural gas replacement buses, one 35-foot compressed natural gas expansion bus and for rehabilitative maintenance to its transit facility, and to the City of Gardena to purchase six 40-foot hybrid gasoline-electric replacement buses.

City of Evansville: $2.6 million to purchase three 30-foot replacement hybrid buses, six replacement vans, 10 bus shelters, spare parts, route signs, and miscellaneous equipment.

The City of Terre Haute: $1.4 to renovate its transit maintenance and storage facility, and to purchase five 30-foot replacement buses, five passenger shelters, fare boxes, and radios.

Bloomington Public Transportation Corporation: $1.7 million  for construction of a downtown transfer facility and to the Muncie Public Transportation Corporation to purchase three replacement 35-foot hybrid electric buses and one 30-foot paratransit bus

Muncie Public Transportation Corporation: $1.7 million for the purchase of three low-floor 35-foot hybrid buses and one paratransit bus.

Western Reserve Transit Authrority: $3.5 million for the purchase of buses and improve facilities in Youngstown.

City of Middletown: $1.3 million for new facilities and buses in Middletown.

Clermont County Commissioners: $1.4 forimproved facilities, buses and support vehicles in Batavia.

Mid-Ohio Valley Transit Authority: $1 million for the purchase of buses in Parkersburg.

Monongalia County Urban Mass Transit Authority: $1 million for the purchase of buses in Morgantown.

Eastern Ohio/Ohio Valley Regional Transportation Authority: $1.4 million for the purchase of two paratransit vans, as well as support vehicles and equipment, in Wheeling.

• $3.5 million for technology improvements, including transit center passenger information systems and automated passenger counting devices.
• $3.0 million for coastal right-of-way rail corridor improvements, including at-grade crossings, turn-outs, rail, track structure, crossties, and signal and communication system components.
• $245,398 to support the design and construction of two bus turn-out and bus shelter areas at transit facilities.
