Frequently Asked Questions
When will I hear from you about an interview?
We intend to begin our interviews in March. We contact prospective interviewees by telephone.

How will I know if my application is being considered?
We consider all applications to be "live" until we send you a letter indicating that we are no longer considering your application.

I live far from Washington. Do you reimburse for travel to Washington if I am interviewed?
No. Students who are too far from Washington to travel may be interviewed by telephone.

When will you make offers to successful applicants?
We can make offers any time from March through early May unless you are otherwise notified by letter.

Do you pay relocation expenses?
The FDIC does not pay for any relocation costs for summer interns.
What is the salary for a summer intern?
For 2008 and depending on qualifications, the grade and salary level for a legal intern in Washington, DC was either CG-7 at $1431 bi-weekly or CG-9 at $1722 bi-weekly. Summer 2009 pay will be disclosed when available. Salary will include a Washington DC pay differential (14.56%).
