Bridge Repairs to Close Southbound Lanes Across Chickamauga Dam

The southbound lanes of State Highway 153 across TVA’s Chickamauga Dam will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, to 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, for repairs to the bridge.
Traffic will detour onto Dupont Parkway across C.B. Robinson Bridge onto Amnicola Highway and back onto State Highway 153. The detour is approximately two miles longer than the route across Chickamauga Dam. A roadway expansion joint will be replaced on the bridge while the lanes are closed.
Every effort will be made to reopen the lanes early, but the reopening could be delayed if concrete has not attained the required strength by Monday. The work will be rescheduled to another weekend if inclement weather is forecast.
