Winners were chosen based on the total number of documented export deals completed in the previous year, total percentage increase in sales in the previous year, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting, the company’s commitment to customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services.
To be eligible for the award, the company must currently be exporting from the United States.
2008 Exporter of the Year: Aquatech International
Aquatech International, a company based in Canonsburg, PA, was awarded the Commercial News USA Exporter of the Year award in the Environmental category.
Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) presented the award to Aquatech on May 27, 2008 in front of the company's ever-expanding headquarters in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
Aquatech International is a provider of water treatment solutions for industrial and infrastructure markets with a focus on desalination and water reuse. The company reported total export sales of more than $180,000,000 in 2006, a 350+% increase over 2005. Founded in 1981, Aquatech International began exporting in 1983.
2007 Exporter of the Year: Mendocino International
Mendocino International of Port Matilda, PA, was named 2007 Exporter of the Year in the Agriculture categoryby Commercial News USA.
A presentation of the award to Rebecca McVicar, VP of Mendocino International, by Congressman John Peterson (PA-05) took place in State College August 15th at the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County.
Founded in 2004, Mendocino International started as a dedicated export company. Currently, the company exports wood products to China. Exports represent 100% of the company’s total sales.
