KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - STS-107 Pilot William "Willie" McCool checks the window in Columbia during Crew Equipment Interface Test activities at KSC. The CEIT includes equipment and payload familiarization. STS-107 is a research mission, with the SHI Research Double Module (SHI/RDM), also known as SPACEHAB, as the primary payload, plus the Fast Reaction Experiments Enabling Science, Technology, Applications and Research (FREESTAR) that incorporates eight high priority secondary attached shuttle experiments.
