Super Typhoon Fengshen can be seen over the central Pacific Ocean in this true color image taken on July 16, 2002, at 23:10 UTC by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), flying aboard NASA's Terra spacecraft. Currently, Fengshen is roughly a thousand miles from the Northern Mariana Islands and packing winds of over 250 kilometers (155 miles) per hour. The typhoon, which has wind speeds equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane, is predicted to move west with little to no change in intensity.
