GOV. RITTER CONGRATULATES KELLY BROUGH AS NEW PRESIDENT OF DENVER METRO CHAMBER
Gov. Bill Ritter today congratulated new Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce President Kelly J. Brough on her recent appointment. The Chamber's board of directors ratified her selection earlier this morning.
"As we continue to recover from the worst economic crisis in 75 years, it is vital that we have strong, visionary leaders, with new ideas to help strengthen, retain and recruit businesses," said Gov. Ritter. "I commend the Chamber of Commerce for its wise selection of Kelly -- a proven problem solver, and a leader with civic service in her background who knows how to build partnerships and coalitions.
"Kelly certainly has her work cut out for her, even as we continue to see encouraging signs of economic activity. Colorado remains a great place to do business -- the New Energy Economy is creating jobs, and our unemployment has remained stable for several months and is almost two percentage points below the national average.
"I look forward to working with Kelly, Tom Clark, and the rest of the leadership at the Chamber. Their knowledge, skills and experience will be of critical value as we lead Colorado forward."
