SSA Webinar for Wounded Warriors

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is hosting a national webinar for Wounded Warriors on November 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Participants will learn about benefit programs, and get answers to questions such as who is eligible, and when and how to apply for benefits. $2.6 Billion to States to Help Low-Income Households with Energy Costs

The Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has announced the release of more than $2.6 billion to states to help low income citizens with their heating bills this year. These funds are grants to states, tribes and territories under the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Energy assistance is important to all that receive it, but especially for the elderly, children and people with disabilities. 2009 H1N1 Flu & You

This new brochure from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) describes flu symptoms, emergency warning signs and provides information for people with chronic health conditions or disabilities including cancer, blood disorders (including sickle cell disease), chronic lung disease, neuromuscular disorders (including muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis) and weakened immune systems (including people with HIV/AIDS). New "EEO is The Law" Poster Now Available

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has revised its Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law poster. This new version shows current federal employment discrimination law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008. The poster was revised to add information about the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 which is effective November 21, 2009. The new poster can be downloaded in PDF format.
