Accessibility Statement

We are committed to ensuring that Disability.gov is accessible to all its users. This Web site has been developed to comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (as amended). Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers to information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities and to encourage the development of new technologies to help achieve these goals. This law requires that all individuals with disabilities have access to information and data comparable to that which is available to individuals without disabilities.

Disability.gov is regularly monitored to ensure that it meets and exceeds the requirements of Section 508.

Skip to Links

Located at the top right of each page of the Web site, the "skip to page content" option allow users to quickly skip to the content or menu sections of the page. This feature may be helpful if you are using a screen magnifier or speech browser, or are viewing the site on a small screen.

High Contrast

Located at the top of each page on Disability.gov is a drop down menu that allows the user to switch the site from "Full Graphics" to "High Contrast" in order to more easily tell the difference between background images and text.

If you would like to use the High Contract version of the site, simply select "High Contrast" from the drop down menu at the top right of any home page and click the "SET" button to the right to the drop down menu.

Text Size

On the top right-hand side of any page on Disability.gov there is a Text Size feature that allows the user to select the text size they prefer on the site.

The three buttons with the letter "A" in them next to the "Text Size" option range in size from small to large, going from left to right. The first "A" button next to "Text Size" is small text, the next is medium size text and the final button is the largest text available on the site. Simply click the button of the letter size that you prefer to change the text size on Disability.gov.
