GOV. RITTER TOURS NEW INTUIT BUSINESS CENTER

Gov. Bill Ritter today toured software firm Intuit Inc.'s new small-business customer-service center in Englewood, which announced it will expand operations, adding 90 new jobs over the next few months.

"I want to welcome Intuit as the newest member of Colorado's growing tech sector," Gov. Ritter said. "Economic times are tough, but Colorado continues to see encouraging economic activity," Gov. Ritter said. "Our strategy has been to aggressively grow Colorado's tech sector. It's a big reason why we will emerge from the downturn faster and stronger than other states.

"Intuit selected Denver due to the large, well-educated labor pool and high percentage of technology workers in the area, our good business climate and our growing technology sector," the Governor added. "Colorado is a great place to do business. It's why CNBC ranked us the third best state in the country for business, and it's why we remain optimistic about our future."

The Englewood facility employs customer-service representatives to help small businesses install and maximize Intuit products. The jobs at this location include a variety of high-tech positions, with compensation ranging from $35,000 to $120,000 annually.
