HHS Announces $25.7 Million in Grants to Expand, Improve Health Centers

Health & Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has announced more than $25.7 million in grants to increase and improve health and support services at the nation's health centers. Patients receive care at health centers regardless of their ability to pay. The centers offer many forms of medical care including checkups, immunizations for children, dental care and prescription drugs, and mental health and substance abuse services.

Community Health Center Grants

$155 million in grants authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act have been released to support Community Health Centers across the country. These New Access Point grants will help provide health services to 750,000 Americans and create 5,500 jobs. Find a health center in your state

National Center for Benefits Outreach & Enrollment
Helps organizations enroll seniors and younger adults with disabilities with limited means into the benefits programs for which they are eligible so that they can remain healthy and improve the quality of their lives.
National Long Term Care Ombudsman Resource Center
Find an advocate for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes and assisted living facilities. Ombudsmen provide information about how to find a facility and what to do to get quality care. They are trained to resolve problems.
