President Obama Commemorates Anniversary of Olmstead & Announces New Initiatives
On the 10th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision in the case of Olmstead v. L.C., President Barack Obama today celebrated that anniversary and launched "The Year of Community Living." The President has directed the Health & Human Services (HHS) Secretary and the Secretary of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to work together to identify ways to improve access to housing, community supports and independent living arrangements for people with disabilities.
