Independent living center (ILC) in Charlotte, NC works to protect the civil rights of people with disabilities by empowering them to live as they choose. Services include advocacy, help with independent living skills, information and referral and peer mentoring.
Disability Rights North Carolina
A private, non-profit organization that serves as North Carolina's Protection and Advocacy (P&A) service and provides specialized legal assistance to people with all types of disabilities.
HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agencies in North Carolina
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sponsors housing counseling agencies throughout the country that can provide advice on buying a home, renting, defaults, foreclosures, credit issues and reverse mortgages.

This Disability & Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC) provides training, information and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessible information technology (IT) to people in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
