What Is a "Best Practice"?

Best practices are innovative ways to use personnel, resources, or technology in order to achieve better results.

A “best practice” is the process that most effectively eliminates a hazard or helps control a risk. Best practices range from single actions and procedures to complex programs. They have been successfully applied at Navy and Marine Corps command, or at other federal or private organizations. They offer insight and options for others who are trying to control similar risks.
