Motorcycle Risk Management

Topic/issue: PMV Safety

Source: USS Carl Vinson

Description: USS Carl Vinson’s safety department created a motorcycle-rider database that tracks cycling education and type of riding. The ship also formed a motorcycle riding club so that members can discuss cycling issues and organize activities. Using their own Sailors, USS Carl Vinson also offered the DOD-required motorcycle safety course and held a motorcycle rider-only safety stand down to focus on protective equipment and riding skills.
