Dr. Omi is the author of "Racial Formation in the United States." His talk, entitled “Counting in the Dark: Racial Classification, the Census, and the Concept of Race,” will address the question of how we understand the necessity of racial classification and its meaning for group claims of recognition, the formation of multiracial identities, and social issues such as racial profiling. |
