Mayor Fenty’s Statement on the Retirement of Congressman Tom Davis

“I have the deepest respect and admiration for Tom Davis, so I took the news of his pending retirement with some sadness. Congressman Davis has been an exceptional friend to the District of Columbia during his tenure in the House of Representatives.

“From his advocacy of voting representation in Congress for our residents to his regional approach on transportation and planning issues, Tom Davis has served as a great ally of the District and an asset to his constituents in the 11th District of Virginia.

“I wish Congressman Davis and his family well, and I look forward to hearing about his next contribution to life in the metropolitan area.”
