Mr. Adams is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering with an emphasis in Civil Engineering, from Northern Arizona University. Prior to his employment with the City of Albuquerque, Mr. Adams worked with the Arizona Department of Transportation. Ed Adams has unparalleled knowledge of all levels of government and governmental operations.

During his tenure with the City of Albuquerque, Mr. Adams has held many leading positions, including:

Chief Operations Officer; Director of the Department of Municipal Development; Project Manager over the development of Isotopes Stadium; Transportation Division Manager; Special Assessment District Engineer; and the Transportation Design Section Manager.

The Chief Administrative Officer Department supports the Mayor. The CAO is appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council to provide day-to-day management of the City.
