Melinda Love is the Director of
the Office of Examination and Insurance. Love is responsible for the oversight of
the chartering program for federal credit unions and the examination and supervision
programs for all federally insured credit unions. She also serves as President of
the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund.
Love also served as regional director in the Tempe, Arizona office covering the
13 western states and the former Chicago region covering seven mid-western states.
Prior to becoming a Regional Director, Love served as NCUA’s deputy executive director,
deputy director of the Office of Examination and Insurance. Love began her NCUA
career in 1986 as an examiner in Northern California. She held positions as principal
examiner, problem case officer, supervision analyst, supervisory examiner and acting
director of special actions.
Love holds a degree in accounting and an MBA. She is a certified internal auditor
and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
The Office of Examination and Insurance provides national guidance for NCUA's efforts
to assure the safety and soundness offederally insured credit unions. The Division
of Supervision oversees NCUA's examination and supervision program. The Division
of Risk Management oversees and directs NCUA's credit union problem resolution program.
The Central Liquidity Facility provides liquidity for all credit unions and can
invest in U.S. government and agency obligations, deposits offederally insured institutions
and shares or deposits in credit unions.
