Description:   opportunities to participate in hands-on education and training related to the Department of Commerce

Discipline(s):   business; life, health, and medical sciences; communications and graphic design; computer science; physical sciences; business; communications and graphic design; mathematics;

Eligibility:  U.S. Citizens Only. undergraduate and graduate students

Location(s):   Department of Commerce headquarters, Department of Commerce division offices, and field centers

Duration:   10 weeks in the summer; 16 weeks during fall or spring semester

Frequency:  continuing

Awards made:  number varies

Deadline(s):  Third Tuesday in January for summer; July 30 for fall semester; December 31 for spring semester. Note: Deadlines are listed above, however applications will be accepted on a continuing basis throughout the year and will be considered past the deadline if positions are still available.

Benefits:  weekly stipend of $450 for undergraduates; $550 for graduate students; $125 per week housing allowance and limited travel reimbursement; accidental medical expense coverage provided
