SUBJECT: Invitation to the Phase II Strategic Planning Meeting

Dear Colleague:

The National Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Strategic Plan covers the period 2005-2009. We held a meeting in October 2008 to review the current Strategic Plan to ensure its relevancy. Attending the meeting were twelve State representatives including representatives from the National Council of Child Support Directors (NCCSD), seven Tribal representatives including representatives from the National Tribal Child Support Directors Association and Regional and Central office staff from the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE). Some attendees represented not only his or her IV-D agency, but the other IV-D agencies in their region.

The work that was done at the meeting in October was incorporated into a draft version of the Strategic Plan. That version was shared with workgroup members who in turn shared the draft with the other IV-D agencies not in attendance at the initial meeting. Comments on the draft will be discussed with the full workgroup and, based on consensus reached, any changes incorporated into the updated draft version of the Strategic Plan. OCSE will share the most up-to-date version of the Plan prior to the meeting and we will discuss and hopefully reach consensus on the FY2010-2014 National CSE Strategic Plan at the NCCSD meeting.

The next step in the Strategic Planning process is the second meeting with all State and Tribal IV-D Directors to review and update the related strategies in the 2010-1014 National CSE Strategic Plan. This meeting will be held on the afternoon of June 17 and the morning of June 18, 2009 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming at the Snow King Resort. This is an add-on to the NCCSD meeting.

It is my understanding the NCCSD is inviting all State IV-D Directors to the IV-D Directors' meeting on June 14, and then all State and Tribal IV-D Directors to the meeting on June 15-17. Registration for the NCCSD meeting can be done electronically through an email you received from Brenda Lyttle and Cvent. When registering for the NCCSD meeting, participants may also register for the National CSE Strategic Planning meeting in the "Options" section. Room reservations at the Snow King Resort may be made by calling 1-800-522-5464. A block of rooms has been set aside for the meetings and the room rate is $195 per night. When calling say you are with the National Council of Child Support Directors to get the reserved rate. All State and Tribal IV-D Directors are invited to attend this CSE Strategic Planning meeting at their own expense.
